Insulin query
« on: November 19, 2013, 09:40:11 PM »
Does exogenous insulin prevent the body from releasing it's own insulin?
IE- you take some insulin then eat a meal, will the body see that it has enough insulin and signal the pancreas to not release insulin or will it notice the carbs and release insulin anyway?
In essence, would taking insulin "give your pancreas a break"?

Does using insulin overtime make it harder to get ripped.

well, this is quite simple, if one does bit reading(not on bbuilding forums, but on scientifical works)and understands the processes, it becomes all obvious.

some diabetics dont take the insulin bc their pancreas doesn produce any insulin nomore.

this answers the question and much else.

this ,too is obvious, i know you didnt "ask", you rather made a remark to make ppl think of things.

better than to take insulin is to make sure than one is insulin sensitive.

and yes, ofc insulin will cause visceral fat growth, esp if too many carbs are consumed.

the visceral fat can be lost quite easy and fast, but certainly not while using insulin.

You can still release endogenous insulin. It's difficult to monitor your blood sugar and keep it precisely where you want, so use a monitor, be consistent and watch the mirrors carefully. Keep doses low because that visceral build up is only apparent once it's really built up.

Using insulin and glucose disposal agents is being investigated in studies because pre diabetics are returning to normal using these protocols. I speculated this years ago, but everyone regurgitated the bro science. Use a small amount and tighten up your diet. Just don't go overboard because the results are catastrophic for your physique and health.

I'd recommend intermittent fasting taking metformin before eating and taking slin before you're one carb mask of the day. This will keep blood sugar stable all day and will give your pancreas a break. If you have to break the fast just eat something very very small. Contrary to popular belief, protein can cause a similar spurt of insulin just like carbs, so keep that in mind.

Any time I do this (minus the slin and metformin) my blood sugar becomes really stable. I imagine the slin and lots of gear could allow you to grow lean especially if you throw in a nice oral.

I have never used it people tout its anabolic properties especially combined with GH which I have also never used. So naturally I am curious about it but would not want to ruin my insulin sensitivity over time or make dieting harder. I guess you have direct experience with it Gal?

with gh direct experience, insulin not.

but know ppl who used it.they all say dieting is harder and they dont seem to get as dry.

some few said it can calm down hunger pains.

but just reading  the science on it is enough for me to know ill never touch it, rather keep high insulin sensitivity, not mess with that, but i have no real bbuilding aspirations.

i dont like the idea of having extra carbs just bc the insulin shots.

but it does add some extra size, so they say.

but youre the first to know that size doesnt mean everything 8)

I only use insulin once in a blue moon for when I compete. Helps get my weight back up after a cut for weigh in.
I was just pondering if I should eat, wait 10 mins then inject or just take the insulin and eat.
I don't think it will make much difference though personally

I have never used exogenous insulin. Just tried camel milk(not joking)
It is supposed to be very strong insulin mimcker and a liver repairer.
And dude it bloats you up like a baboon and strength skyrockets. As good as 50mg dbol/day on a high carb diet.

There are a lot of insulin mimetics
Cinnamon and chromium are very good also

Those two will help increasing insulin sensitivity but won't cause an insulin response.

If insulin administration is anything like the insulin response I get from huge cheat meals, it must be putting guys in a coma....especially when used in combo
with gh. All I would wanna do is sleep all day!

And those current pros on the olympia don't seem to get as shredded as other guys from the past or the european guys. There's like a different look in the muscle....oth explained before that insulin has the ability to shuttle nutrients into the muscle whether it be from fat/carb. Maybe there is a greater % of fat being stored in the muscle thus making it seem like you're not able to come in as hard/lean as before ??

yes, eating too much carbs with too much insulin presence will put fat even into the muscle.

and guess where else.....into the abdomen area, known as visceral fat.

known as "gut"

Do you know what the body would release in iu amounts in response to a regular sized meal and how many iu of insulin guys are taking?

I'd like to know a comparison of how much excess is going on here...can't be good either way.

Just look at the doses type 1 diabetics take
This is roughly how much insulin you will release naturally
I can't be bothered to look it up myself
Also I am 99% certain that cinnamon lowers blood sugar

Yeah I've been taking that quite a bit recently...the lower the insulin the better for me. I've heard it termed as a "glucose disposal" agent...but I'm sure there's stronger ones, I think dustin mentioned one above.

And I don't doubt these guys are taking a way more insulin our bodies secrete, I just wonder about exact amounts. Like 5x the natural ??

Just something most guys aren't willing to talk about and I can understand why.

i have it in abook borracho.ill post it tomoro.

its too simplyfied to say "cnnamon" bring down bloodsugar.

the body doesnt work like that.

also, borracho, how much is injected or released by the pancreas isnt the last word, it depends on insulin sensitivty,if thats in the shitter, the body will be flooded!! to no end with insulin.a recipe for absolute desaster long term.

serioudly if ppl would realy read a scientifical book on insulin and the works, nobody would dare using that for mscle gains.

theres boks out there written in layman terms.

there wont be easy and 1size fits all answer on a bbuilding message board.

just like some ppl said hey gal can you sum up your diet etc in 1 a4 page, this is crazy, that ended up being 80pages, and lets say 40useful on topic ones.

one the matter of insulin, thatll be 100+ pages required to learn.

fucking hell no way would i listen to a bbuilder about insulin, their interest is the gain of muscle, with dosregards to all side effects.

and insulin should not come into play any sooner than this:

maxed out toaly on all buffet steroids.

followed by 1 year on low dose gh and moderate steroids.

then 1 year of moderate dose gh+steroids.

meanwhile, learning which food) is needed, aka perfect diet(i dont say clean at all time,i say perfect).

and then maybe insulin.

maybe.

the relaity is, in the gym i see twinks, fucking idiots, on steroids5-10times hrt, 5-10ius gh and insulin, in the hope the gains would be faster or something, they look like shit, absolute shit.
no not even great size but bulky, but great nothing, they have nothing.

i dont knwo what it is with ppl, before i touched any anti estrogen or inhibitor, i informed myself in medical books what it does, etcetc.

hell bbuilders think the purpose of diuretics is to draw water out of the body!for christ sake, thats a sideeffect of diuretics.
the very same thinking is going around about insulin.

its scary, both diuretics (esp when shredded)and insulin(anytime within minutes)can just end your life l,just like that, bom,and youre swimming with the fishs.

one more thing, many many scientist and doctors today claim that even for diabetic 1 type, insulin injections arent the smartest solution at all.even harmful, but it makes them live on.

im a bbuilder and i say myself NEVER listen to a bbuilder when it comes to drugs, excpet maybe simpke things like test only or test + some oral cycles.

the black steroid handbook is ok to get a raw idea, but even that is fucking shit.

galeniko I think you've said bbers would eat their own excrement if it meant better gains  ;D

Great response though, I agree that not a lot of people bother to inform themselves of what they're putting in their bodies.

yah hermano i know. :D

there was a time where i was younger and thought the sky is the limit,in a way that state of mind is required to build a worthwhile physique, i was ready back then to do whatever it takes, but if i could have predicted the future and calculated all other factors in upfront, id have seen things much more relaxed.

just trying to keepppl with the same drive i had back then, from doing something they could regret later on or even very soon.

that said, now something more positive, if someone makes sure their insulin sensitivity is good, this is actualy done very easy, if one has dietary disciplne, then the bodys own insulin producction will be just enough to build muscle.

im not so sure if ppl realize how strongly anabolic insulin actualy is, it halts fatloss imediately when in the blood, that strong it is.and the body needs hours to recover from the i release.

so yeah, the isnulin realease of insulin sensitive guy on just steroids or steroids+little bit gh, wont require any exogenous insulin.its just not needed.

how can i say, one can only shuffle so much glycogen into their muscle and liver.

ppl should be happy to not be diabets lol, instead of trying to make themsleves diabetics.

ever notice when you really fill up on carbs day after day after day, what eventualy happens?energy levels dont get better after a while and one spills over severly.they had plenty of insulin thats for sure, but it made the nutitients go to all the wrong places.

then compare this to low carb day and then some carby meal suddenly.will feel relay sensitive, no ?

and with exogenous insulin, depon diet, there will be need for diet adaptions.

yes yes, insulin can have satiety effect and all,i know.

but i+ the diet will cause visceral fat, theres not even doubt about that.meanwhile they say visceral fat isnt so unhealthy as previously believed, but by the time visceral fat builds up, fat is being built in all other wrong places in the body, eventualy slwoly leading to infections etcetc.

verdict, this can go very very wrong.

just like getting too lean,or staying too lean(dont worry the fatsos,we talking extremly lean and starving),the body will posion itself.

Just got back from the gym right now, I was talking to this kid that has access to vet gear and other vet supplies. So he tells me he was gonna get this pig feed for himself that's given to undernourished pigs when they need to put on "mass". I was gonna go into how all bbers eat that stuff in the offseason but I just couldn't keep a straight face.  ;D

Galeniko for the average gym rat I find it ridiculous to even consider that stuff. But take a guy like bigro who definitely has what it takes to make it far in bbing...gotta be tough decision for someone to make. Easy for me to say hell no I'd never do it but I'm not at the crossroads where he is atm...

Don't go dying for us bitches bigro   :P

yah bigro is the perfect condiate to start little bit gh on top of what he did so far.

before having his physique , why even bother.

and we talk gh, not insulin.

if one cant somewhat match his physique on steroids, why bother.

hes the gentic elite who puts the work and knowlegde into it.

before one isnt on his level, best to shut up, train hard and do dteroids and learn how to eat.

Yeah think that is the next step, give the GH a run. I will leave insulin for when I can afford to work with a good prep coach and only if I am already pro.

I just read somewhere that the most common form (cheap) of cinammon available contains high levels coumarin which can cause liver toxicity in "some people". First, I'm hearing about this...
