What is your take on Ronnie Rockel.

This guy has always impressed me. His symmetry and shape are excellent. With another 10- 15 pounds of muscle he could really do some damage.

he got screwed at the olympia! he owned cormier at least.

anyways, i think he has great potential and hope that he gains some weight without doing something stupid.

Sadly, you're right.

This physique somehow wasn't considered good enough to even make top 15 at the last Olympia, thanks to ludicurous judging.

Ronnie is awesome----- i have said that all along , he gets screwed because they don't compear him , but when they do he cleans up !!! this happened at the Olympia big time(mind you they didn't compear any one at the Olympia !!!)The only thing that lets Ronnie down is his posing---- man if i could work with him for a bit he would pose fantastic and start getting the rewards he deserves---- If Dave Henry can win a show(i am also a fan of Dave's) then Ronnie should be well up there--- IFBB judges take note , start compearing Ronnie and see what happens , you will be surprised !!!

yes ronnie is awesome
met him at 2005 ausie gp where he should have got second
and then watch him and jaroslav horvath train at dohertys gym the next day
and spoke with them both as they were beening filmed for their new training video
really nice guys both of them
even tho they arent massive they have shape and size in thier own way
and not very tall and just look like normal guys in there street clothes
hopefully they will do better

I keep hearing about competitors like Ronnie Rockel not being massive enough and needing more size. Honestly, look at those pics; why would he need more size?

What is it with this incomprehensible obsession about needing to get ever more massive?

what exactly was it he was missing in the judges eyes? Size? In regards to who exactly? Great physique, reminds me of a few years ago when Claude Groulx finished somewhere like 21st but should have been fighting for 10th - 12th easily. Its beyond me what the judges are thinking

We all agree that he looks great yet guys like him place really low at bbing shows. Something really needs to be done about this.

I'm really nit picking but why the hell did he use dream tan. That alone probably cost him a couple spots. He was definetly better than ruhl, farah, and even cormier. I would of johnny jackson 10, dave henry 11, rockel 12, then mustafa 13th, 14 cormier.. 15 ruhl..

I thought the judging was off all together Ronnie won ok fine but Badell should of been 2nd Jay 3rd I would of also put Branch in the top 5 or 6

Something's fcuked up when someone with the kind of physique that Jay Cutler has beats Ronnie Rockel.

When I look at old pics of Cutler, those pics from around 96-97 when he turned pro, it really starts to become fcuked up. His physique was better in many ways: detailed back, taper, waist.

I don't see it as Cutler's fault. He shows up with the physique that is best liked by these ~~muscle worshippers~~ judges. And has the money to show for it.

If the physique of Rockel would get awarded, then the IFBB would most likely have less PR problems as far as the general public goes, I think a lot more companies in the health industry would see potential with using bodybuilders in their marketing strategy then.

I'm fed up with the whole thing. Something needs to be done now. Guys like Melvin, Johnnie Jackson, Ronny Rockel, David Henry, etc. should be winning shows. Enough is enough. How much farther are we gonna let this go on ?

Bodybuilding had 20 years of "aesthetics" and honestly what's the point of it, like coleman says, this is bodybuilding, if you want to look at pretty boys go watch survivor or something.

Rockel represents what bodybuilding is about size, shape and symmetry.

If you look at his photos on this thread and don't think he looks good, i'm afraid your in the wrong sport.
