Fuckin A. The printed version of heavy deads on squat day. Guess I'll take another run at it one of these days.
dont have one. Im only mildy familiar with his work. Picked up a copy of his "complete short stories" a couple years back, read several of them and was astonished at how he made the pages come to life. Had never read anyone else who did such a thing in such a manner. I cant remember any particular story, except for one about a rich man who takes his wife on a hunting trip, she tries to bed the guide and ends up shooting her husband by accident.
Whoa, Wez, first time I heard that name on here. One of my college professors wrote his biography, Full of Life. Ask the Dust was great, he wanted us all to read it. Fante was a big inspiration for Bukowski, and later Thom Jones, a brilliant short story writer. He read at our school. Good call, man.
jesus, he wrote the bible
Amazing who else wrote about beer shits?
I like me some Vonnegut, too.
