I'm a bodybuilder, not a powerlifter. Pure strengh without shape is crap. If I only cared about strengh, I'd eat 10 000 calories a day and do nothing but deads, squats, military presses and bench presses. Sorry, but I'm not interested.

no ones saying you have to like it...but its a totally different thing than bbing so you dont judge them like you would a bber. you dont look at a pro football player and say 'but he sucks at basketball, whats the point'

Fair enough. However, I never said I don't respect these men. In fact, I'm a great fan of the "World's Strongest Man" competition and watch it regularly. The thing is that, to me, the whole point of gaining strengh is to force muscular hypertrophy, to make my muscles voluminous. Gaining more strengh than mass, and keeping the mass you gain covered with layers of lard, is just not my thing. I do respect and admire these men, for their incredible strengh and toughness.

Let me tell ya something here people. I saw Greg do an instore book/dvd signing wtfever you call it at a MuscleMag store back in 99 or 2000. Anyway he was every bit of 400 pounds. In fact from out of the front of the van to the chair he sat in, he wheezed like a 400 lb man!!

when i saw kovacs (at the 01 toronto pro and north amreeka's) he didnt look anywhere near 400lbs .... nasser (who looked taller than the 5'11 hes listed at) dwarfed him and he was 325 at the time

The guy wasn't fat either. He had to be the strongest guy there by far. He did the keg squat thing with ease. The fingal fingers easy. The atlas stones were a breeze for him. He just wasn't as agile as some of the smaller guys.
