I think that prime off-season Victor Richards, Nasser, Ronnie Coleman, Paul Demayo, Dennis Wolf, Aaron Baker, Markus Ruhl... were all more impressive than Kovacs.

May he Rest In Peace.... but look at how bad he looked at the one Arnold Classic that he competed in..

I think Greg Kovacs' threads arise every 2-3 years on Getbig. Much like threads on Jeff King.

Haha!  True - and Rory Leidelmeyer  ;D

The most massive muscular/gasbag man I’ve ever seen in person, and this is saying a lot.

I’ve pretty much seen them all.

He’d walk into an area and immediately the Colemans, Yates, Dilletts, and El Sonbatys would disappear. A much inferior bodybuilder, absolutely, but simply as a monstrous human being, Kovacs was in a class all his own.

I’ve told my stories concerning Greg on Getbig multiple times. An uncharismatic but likeable guy.

MuscleTech/Paul Gardiner used him then fucked him.

RIP

How would he look next to Brian Shaw / Thor
Likely dwarfed as he did those you mentioned.

Elephants are Big only they don’t win Bodybuilding shows,
Maybe he should’ve been a strong man competitor.

I think that the 2002 version of Gunter Schlierkamp would actually make Kovacs look somewhat small onstage.

Kovacs competed at 330. Gunter competed at 300. But Gunter had wow factor. Kovacs had smallish arms and legs onstage. Gunter would’ve crushed him.

Unathletic steroid hippo. Too unathletic to even do a proper freeweight squat. Impressive for sheer size I guess but not much else, actually..

Yep. Greg said Nasser's glasses fogged up when when he met him at the Toronto airport.

Kovacs wrote the article for RX muscle.

It was November or December of 2005. Greg Kovacs was just about 27 at the time. And apparently an offseason 410-lb to Nasser's 330-lb. Kovacs was also  a strong 6'2" - maybe 6'2.4". So about 3" taller than Nasser. So he would have dwarfed him.

Nasser El Sonbaty made fun of Kovacs for not being able to wipe his own ass [something Kovacs didn't deny in his RXMuscle article, leading me to believe it's the truth], but Nasser sold his worn clothes online. Meh. Both died in 2013. RIP.
