i was just following stuff on forums.
Like how the mainstream media showed a pic of Honda S2000, with black rims, and then "aha, they were drag racing"....yeah, a S2000 and a almost half a million dollar car drag racing. Come to find out, it was someone who had stopped to help.

Some idiot claims that he heard the turbos spool up, and this car is reported to be largely stock, which means no turbos, as it never came with them.

This is a good study on 24 hr news outlets and today's journalism. Very poor quality, and all they want to do is get the first lead without checking it out.

I'm fine with people taking their vehicles for a 200 mph joyride... just go to the desert or the autobahn and do it.

Pay the $ and go to a professional track and enjoy yourself.   I bet the rush is insane.

But doing it on public roads is selfish and should be a crime that is seriously punished.   These 2 would have gotten a slap on the wrist for going 120 mph in that car... I dont like that part of the law.  If I fire a gun into traffic, I'm looking at a few years in prison.  I can move a vehicle out of control on a crowded public street at 120 mph and they might give me a few points on my license.

In the end, bam-bam was wrong. 7 extinguishers didn't do jack, plus a magnesium transmission tunnel.
The guy who was filming came up to the scene, was running to it, you hear a loud boom, and he and others ran back.

magnesium trans tunnels dont just burst into flame man.

Those things are certified to a high safety standard because of the chance of impact. They're not going to put a trans tunnel into a race car thats going to explode and fry the driver.

just because its primarily magnesium doesnt mean it acts like a pure piece of magnesium. All these parts are designed to be as safe as possible in the case of impact.

A fellow human being died a tragic death. My heart goes out to his loved ones. I've had loved ones die tragic deaths as well. I can relate to those that are suffering because of this. It doesn't matter who dies like this......my heart will always go out to their families. Famous or not.

Today another person will wrap their car around a pole and they will die, as will their passengers. I feel the same about that situation as I do about this. Whether they are ugly or not. My heart goes out there. The only difference is that I will most likely not hear about it.

I understand that. I posted the press release  for the car which gave sone detsil in the contr utuon of the car, which was also backing up what you said previously, and to an effect now. But what happens if it did catch on fire?
