He was. The bodybuilding industry wasn’t for him. He was too sensitive and insecure to be around a group of fickle back stabbing people. I saw him once in person. I walked past him at the NY Pro back in 2009. He was dressed in a suit and shaking someone’s hand. It was crowded so I only saw him briefly but didn’t know that it was Derek. It was only when I got back to Australia that I recognised him from pics posted.

Lol, yeah. One of the times I got one I never heard back. I was in the doctor a few months later for a physical and he's looking at his computer screen and says "oh,we gave you and hiv test a while back". I'm like yeah, so um, about that, I'm good right? He asked why I didn't follow up when I didn't see the results in the mail. I just chuckled.
