That's what happens when you buy your second-hand car from G-Thang.

How is it acting weird?  Have you ever changed the fluid?  Is it shifting hard? Delayed shifts? Slipping?

Hope you like the car.  New trans is a deal breaker for me unless I love the car.  Too much money and it always seems like tranny failures are repeat offenders

I was going to say it sounds like coolant contamination into the gearbox fluid from possible leaking cooling system. It does happen, GM Vauxhalls were famous for it in the UK. Draining the transmission fluid and refilling sometimes works for a while but usually a rebuild or replacement is required. I would think a rebuild would be half the cost or less than a new transmission. In the UK it would be $2500 for rebuild compared to $6000 for new box.

parker was very kind and responded to me very fast. However I had to explain to him how automatics also have clutches...  So if parker cant help you feel free to pm with mechanical questions    He admitted to only be a parking lot mechanic and not an actual mechanical

Use a small caliber bullet. Hit the cylinder head from about 5.' That slug oughta bounce around enough that any real ID is impossible.Thank me later.

Easiest thing to do is to take a sample of the transmission fluid.  Half of a white styrofoam coffee cup is plenty. Is it black and smell burnt?  Does it have evidence of coolant in it? Next pour some of it through a clean white rag, see what is filtered by the rag. If you see metal savings the trans will need to be rebuilt or replaced. If the fluid looks good, and there is no metal in it you may only need a valve body or possibly a solenid if it comes separate from the valve body.

If you need a rebuild, be VERY careful where you take it. The cheapest option may cost you alot more down the road vs getting a new or a factory rebuilt unit.
