Derek Anthony - was an autopsy performed?
« on: December 14, 2013, 07:11:46 PM »
Any idea if one was performed?  I know in some states they require it if a person is under a certain age/circumstance.  I would be curious of the report if it is available.

I don`t know how to ask this any other way or in any other fashion, but where would oil go in ones arms once they are buried?  I know they have exhumed females with breast implants, using them as an indentifer as they do not decompose.  I assume the oil will remain under most conditions so it would be a puddle of oil if an exhumation was done in say, 30 years.

I am not trying to be funny here actually and am just generally curious.

To answer your question -- No. Autopsies are not performed on everyone who dies. The laws of each state vary, but ultimately the family and the wishes of the person (if known) are respected. If you have further concerns regarding this, I would recommend you discuss this with your doctor. Autopsies are not performed on everyone. For people who pass away in the hospital, the family (or next of kin) is asked if they would like an autopsy. If the patient has advance directives or a living will that specifically describes their wishes -- this will be respected. Often, if the cause of death is known (like a sick cancer patient), there is no need. Regardless it will be offered to the family. There are some situations in which an autopsy will be performed. All deaths out of the hospital (in some states) will have an autopsy performed unless specifically declined by the family. Also, deaths under unclear circumstances -- like murder or suicide -- will often have an autopsy. Autopsies are a medical procedure in order to determine the cause of death. The point of the procedure is to determine exactly what caused the patient's death -- often this is helpful if the cause of the death is unclear. For example, if someone is suddenly sick for unexplained reasons -- this can be helpful in order to determine what the cause is. This can be helpful as we worry that the cause is an infection that could harm others, or a genetic disorder that can affect other family members.

That didn`t really answer my question.

Do we know how he died?  Was it the Chemo that caused organ failure?

Inadvertently it was.  I wasn`t keeping up with the entire saga and was unclear how he died actually.  All I know is that he was in the hospital for cancer treatment of some type.  Did he have an allergic reaction to the Chemo?  Something happened that was not supposed to happen and I was just curious as to what that was.

I don`t see it as sick either because usually thats the first thing that is reported when a celebrity dies.  Even Paul Walker had an autopsy complete after the crash, despite all of us knowing what happened.

cause of death is not known though. It could be the synthol, cancer chemo, liver, kidneys, heart or a combination of all.

I remember my mom getting her first dosage of Chemo and she had a bad reaction almost immediately.  Its pretty scary.  Luckily they were able to stop it in time and switch it off and to something else.

So thats how it went with Derek?

Yeah, that happened around 2007.  She was aware of Getbig and read the site actually.  She thought it was all hilarious, the back and forth banter, insults etc...

It frustrated her so much growing up.  I think I argued with every teacher, principal, police officer growing up.  I remember in high school the cops were sent to my house because of all the noise complaints they got from me driving around with speakers.  I was going at it with a cop in front of my mom and she was freaking out.  I was smarting off to the cop saying that he didn`t have a decible counter so there was nothing he could do.  I asked him to define what "acceptable" means.  Then I proceeded to correct him.  I was such an asshole to him and my mom and him were both yelling at me.  hahahah

A lot of questions and a lot of bullshit in this thread already....true G&O fashion.

Was he an organ donor? NO. Not eligible. He had cancer, and given that it was a 6cm HCC based on what he told us I bet it had already spread out of the liver and he just didn't say anything about it.

What did he die from? Best guess....multi-organ failure from hepatorenal syndrome. NOT a reaction to the Sorafenib or TACE he got. His liver was shot, His kidneys were shot....that means he probably died a very painful and terrible death. Kovacs by comparison would have suffered much less than Derek.

Re: AUTOPSY. Ultimately it is up to the patient's family (and the deceased wishes) unless there is a criminal investigation going on, that trumps everything. Personally, I have seen autopsies and they are disgusting. The "prosector" is basically a butcher that treats the deceased with about as much grace as McDonalds treats its' Grade A beef. They take EVERYTHING out (Brain, organs etc....) and once they have samples of everything they toss it all in a bag, tie it up and toss it back in.  :-X

DA it would seem lived hard and fast, but died slow.

Incidentally, anyone go to the funeral? Was it closed or open casket and did he go with a suit or cutoff T?
I could see DA wanting people to say "Damn, He is pretty jacked for a dead guy"
