A lot of questions and a lot of bullshit in this thread already....true G&O fashion.

Was he an organ donor? NO. Not eligible. He had cancer, and given that it was a 6cm HCC based on what he told us I bet it had already spread out of the liver and he just didn't say anything about it.

What did he die from? Best guess....multi-organ failure from hepatorenal syndrome. NOT a reaction to the Sorafenib or TACE he got. His liver was shot, His kidneys were shot....that means he probably died a very painful and terrible death. Kovacs by comparison would have suffered much less than Derek.

Re: AUTOPSY. Ultimately it is up to the patient's family (and the deceased wishes) unless there is a criminal investigation going on, that trumps everything. Personally, I have seen autopsies and they are disgusting. The "prosector" is basically a butcher that treats the deceased with about as much grace as McDonalds treats its' Grade A beef. They take EVERYTHING out (Brain, organs etc....) and once they have samples of everything they toss it all in a bag, tie it up and toss it back in.  :-X

DA it would seem lived hard and fast, but died slow.

Incidentally, anyone go to the funeral? Was it closed or open casket and did he go with a suit or cutoff T?
I could see DA wanting people to say "Damn, He is pretty jacked for a dead guy
I'd wear this T-shirt.    ;D

Speaking of DOA DA,  people speculated on DA having AIDS in numerous threads without any threads being deleted but every Tbumz AIDS thread has bit the dust.

Lack of oxygen to the brain was the cause of death.

Hope this helps.

They dissected Anthony and they had to label it science fiction...

Any idea if one was performed?  I know in some states they require it if a person is under a certain age/circumstance.  I would be curious of the report if it is available.

I don`t know how to ask this any other way or in any other fashion, but where would oil go in ones arms once they are buried?  I know they have exhumed females with breast implants, using them as an indentifer as they do not decompose.  I assume the oil will remain under most conditions so it would be a puddle of oil if an exhumation was done in say, 30 years.

I am not trying to be funny here actually and am just generally curious.

If I had to take a guess, he prob had a heart attack after receiving his 2nd chemo.....unfortunately, the amount of work the doctors did last year to get his heart started back up was so much that there was no way it was going to be started back up.

Honestly, the chemo wouldn't have done him any good...just pallative care at best since he had a 6cm tumor.  For reference, I'll show you this picture of what it looked like

.  The doctors already knew what was going to happen but didn't tell him to keep his spirits up.  Best thing they done because there was no amount of chemo that would have slayed that beast of a tumor

But don't some donors organs go to science/university for study? I'd imagine there's more to learn from diseased organs than healthy ones?

poor taste..

that's not poor taste

"poor taste" is to ask if the undertaker had to staple the hairpiece onto his skull so it doesn't fall off during the open casket

Even with all of his ailments, his biggest mistake was doing that agressive chemotherapy when he was on dialysis and congestive heart issues....his death was pretty much going to happen.

If I was in his place, I would have yielded my sword like a gentleman rather than a plebe grasping for invisible straws and accepted my fate with conviction.  I'd rather die on a nice beach smoking the finest hand rolled cigar and glass of bourbon giving myself an extra few months to a year instead of being hooked up to a bunch of wires in a crummy hospital bed twittering and FB people to wish me luck like that would do some good....some that even a common house cat would do....fuck that noise

I'm with you on this one Vince.  Why not go out enjoying the smell of the ocean and the scent of a Cuban cigar.

I hear that sentiment, but its really not going to be like that.  Remember what Steve Jobbs looked like?  You aren`t going to die on the beach very comfortably.  By that time, you won`t even know what a beach is or where you even are.  The pain will be unbearable.  It would be impossible to light up a cigar.

I was basing it on Derek's condition prior to death as he was on his feet and walking.....in the particular instance of Steve Jobs, he died peacefully in his house full of which is acceptable as well.

My whole thing is that if given the choice, anywhere nice, comfortable, and peaceful with plenty of morphine...anywhere but a hospital bed begging for life.

Strange how many times he said "I'm healthy, I'm 28yo...."

Who says that?
