From what he told me, it was because he felt like his journey would not be complete not winning the World championships , South East Asia Games and if there is any, the Asian Games...all of which are big deals in Asia...being a pro don't mean squat here as there are no major sponsors so, basically you'd have to go out and work like everyone else to make ends meet since the demands of a pro is way more expensive than being an amateur. Amateurs here get at least some medical free at local sports council, flight and accommodation paid for and some cash incentives if you bring back a medal for the country. But all in all...winning these titles mean more to us in Asia ;)

And let's not forget his torn muscles which make him look "odd". He wasn't going to do any damage in the IFBB, with or without torn muscles.

Amateurs get paid to train by the government there. No need to go pro there unless you wanna be the best in the world.

Trophies at International amateurs BB contests seems to be far superior to professionals awards  :)

Yes it's true. Fatho is from Singapore..they hand out quite a hefty sum to the gold medalist. Thing is, to be a pro in Asia and not have any sort of endorsement contracts can be very difficult. Would mean you'd have to go out and work regular hours ,which in turn limits your training schedule BUT the upside is, you have access to the sports council which has very good gyms, doctors, physios etc plus all expense paid to go compete at all the games and comps within the itinerary.

He cant do my show without an IFBB Pro card. I haven't heard from him in years, so that is about it!
