just like when i take my iphone and sit it in a bowl to make it Louder, it works like a charm, i cant measure how much louder but it is noticably louder

this is form, taking energy and making a stronger force of energy, this shape/form puts a focus on energy where you want it

Placing a phone in a bowl produces no more or no less energy than usual.  The energy is expressed in a different way, that is all. While you gain a louder sound you lose the ability to project the sound a greater distance.  Hope this helps
