ENTER THE DRAGON

Of course, it's mine as well.  Blood Sport is a classic.

Bloodsport is too good for words.  I have watched it probably a hundred times in my life and it is still great every single time.

Very impressive.  But brick no hit back.

Kid with the Golden Arms
Five Deadly Venoms

Those old shaw brothers movies are epic.

Add masterkiller/36th chamber of shaolin to that list.

Enter the Dragon! Started it all!

Amazing how many of us agree.

The two that immediatly jumped into my head were Enter the Dragon and Bloodsport, in that order, with the former being the Babe Ruth of Martial Arts movies.

Wasn't Bloodsport a blatant ripoff of Enter the Dragon anyway? I don't know, it's just hard for me to take JCVD seriously as a martial artist.

No way.  It was based on the true story of Frank Dux.  The only similarity was fighting in a tournament, but if that is the criteria, a lot of these movies would be rip offs.

Karate Kid is up there even though it has some of the worst fight choreographing of any martial arts movie.

My friend i hope you realise Frank Dux was exposed as a complete con merchant. Not a single verifiable claim, and damning evidence against him that proved he made everything up. Not only that but Zane Frazier, a man with an appalling MMA record, apparently knocked him on his arse in a hotel and gained entry into UFC 1.

Seriously?!  Fuck.  That kind of tarnishes the movie a bit.  Nah...it still fucking rules.  The movie still kicks ass, even if it is total fiction.

Yeah amongst other things:

There is no evidence to suggest he was in the military or a high level CIA operative
There is no evidence to suggest he has ever competed in martial arts at any level
He claims to have broken bullet proof glass bare handed
His one and only trophy for 5 years of undefeated full contact combat was purchased near his home
He claimed Bolo Yeungs character died right before the film was made from brain tumours

The man is a serial bullshit artist, would likely be man handled by an average fighter.
