I have the luxury of not worrying about acquiring food, so instead I worry about finances and other such things. And presumably I'd worry about what the poor worry about if I were poor, and they'd worry about what I worry about if they were rich (in global terms).

Why would what the world's poor people worry about affect what I as a first-world citizen worry about? As long as I don't pretend my worries are equivalent to desperately lacking food, what's the problem here?
