Sad that you thought anyone would have actually believed it when they first saw it.
Why wouldn't I think that? Have you read some of the hatred that has been expressed by so many members of the military? Cops & military personnel have never been known for having a great deal of respect, or admiration for the politicians who govern.
You allow yourself to get fooled most of the time because you start with a theory based in a foundation of beliefs and work backwards to prove it.
Dude, whadja mean I allow myself to get fooled most of the time... What most of the time?
It was only ONE TIME, lol, and it was no theory. It was a news article by a respected site that completely echoed my viewpoint. C'mon OzmO, I was honest enough to admit my error, as well as my willingness to temporarily suspend my initial skepticism. You yourself have seen the article that got me. Can you HONESTLY say it was unreasonable of me to MOMENTARILY allow myself to believe, ...even though that belief lasted only as long as it took to read the article? I am not in the least bit ashamed or embarrassed for feeling prematurely vindicated. The joke was carefully & thoughtfully crafted around plausibility.
My skeptic's radar went off immediately upon reading the headline, AND the date combined.
It didn't make sense that such BLOCKBUSTER news would NOT have previously come to my attention.
However, having read it for yourself, ...can you HONESTLY say that it was implausible? Be honest now...
So I see the possibility of you believing this story although unlikely. But the fact you thought others might have at first makes me wonder.
What's to wonder? Why wouldn't I think some might initially experience an increased pulse rate?
It's not like a few months had already gone by as in the case of the article that punked me.
Besides, ...you heard some of the comments... such a scenario would not be implausible for many here.
It just seemed too far fetched that people here would conceive of an administration so meticulous as to ensure that no one wore green on an overseas trip to the Middle East, would then commit such a horrible faux pas as to air drop a bunch of Christmas Hams into Muslim Afghanistan, ...so I ran with the capitol invasion story instead.
C'mon, ...look how many people here were sure Romney was going to win the election.
I called it the day they took Ron Paul out of the race ...but some who'll remain nameless, thought it would be a
LANDSLIDE!!! I'm sorry this just never gets old.
