Weidman vs Silva II

Anderson wins however and whenever he wants.

Anyone arguing that the first fight was anything other than a man clowning around a little too much and paying for it is out of their minds...

New Yorkers in general tend to be a little delusional but Long Islanders take it to another level. Lets take a look at Weidman's coaches.

His striking Coach Ray Longo, a poorly written Soprano's character straight outta central casting. Obese with a famously short temper, worryingly for Weidman, Ray Longo possesses very little technical muay thai knowledge, leaving Chris Weidman with a one dimensional stand up game with the inability to give or take powerful kicks (particularly leg kicks, one the most under trained aspects in MMA, a tactic that could absolutely turn Weidmans lower body into jelly)

Weidman essentially possesses the stand up skills of a lower level amateur boxer.

Granted he's an excellent wrestler, but once it hits the ground he has to rely on the Grappling skills learned from his Coach Matt Serra, a guy famous for handing out BJJ black belts like Halloween candy. Weidman has been practicing BJJ for 4 years. Don't let anyone fool you, the guy is a brown belt under Matt Serra, he's no wizard on the ground. Hell, even a black belt these days means fuck all in BJJ, the rate they're being handed out.

The only chance Weidman has of winning this fight is an unlikely 5 round lay and pray. Pinning Silva to the ground and throwing some short elbows to "stay busy" (just enough to fulfill the UFC's ridiculously "Wrestler friendly" ground rules)

Rousey vs Tate II

Rousey by Armbar whenever.

I'm no Rousey fan but she's competing in a division with almost zero depth and Tate is just a pretty face. Rousey vs Cyborg will never happen in the UFC. Ronda would get smashed to pieces and Cyborg refuses to suck down to 135lb. The most exciting and deep division in womens mma is the 115lb division, which will be debuting in the UFC later next year.

I am looking forward to Silva beating Weidman's ass this time. If Silva loses again, then it is a clear sign to hang them up.

A prime Silva (he is not in his prime now) would winn 99/100 times.

Weidman is fighting a proud, old warrior on his last legs.

Make no mistake though, we will see the true Silva. There will be no more games.

I think you're right.

What I want is for Anderson to give it his all, no clowning around, no games, just go in for the kill.

In other words, I want a true fight, whereby both guys leave it all in the ring with no flukes or "lucky shots".

I am afraid of the trilogy though  :-\  If Silva beats his ass, people will say it's because Dana wants a rubber match.

I had the opportunity to see Weidman training at Renzo's last month for his camp and the kid looks pretty damn good.

This time around, I think Anderson is taking it. I have never seen Anderson this focused over a fight. I have also never seen Anderson in as good of shape as he is in now (based on a few online pictures posted of him).

The last time around, I picked Silva, even though everyone at the academy picked Weidman. This time around, I am once again going with Silva.

This is the great unknown. I know that Silva can pull it off if he comes to work and I hope he brings the killer instinct with him.

Ultimately, I'd like to see a real battle like we did with Jones vs Gustafsson. I want it to go down as the fight of the year.

Silva needs to follow in Vitor's footsteps, if you know what I mean.

As someone that followed MMA for a good while, it happens to the best of them.....Matt Hughes, Liddell, Rich Franklin, they hang around long enough and get a little older and along comes the younger version of themselves.  Silva has proven time and time again he defies logic and would not be surprised if he does it again, however, like GSP, you have to recognize when your time has come and gone.  I will take Weidman just because he is that bad match up for Silva..6 years ago I would feel different.  Just as I feel 6 years ago GSP cleans the floor with Hendricks but his time has also come.
I definitely subscribe to this! I think Weidman is the man to end Silvas long reign! It happens to everybody!

Silva will give it his all this time and I think he will lose again. Weidman 2nd round knock out...I look for Silva to try to end it quick and will get caught...

People talk like Weidman is the second coming of Roy Jones Jr. The guy can punch ok but is far from a good boxer. He is actually a wrestler. And some of you need to review some Silva fights .. old or not he is still a force to be reckoned with ESPECIALLY when it comes to stand up. I might be wrong but we'll see..

lol

he wouldn't have fought his way to a UFC title shot if he wasn't good.

Cormier was also a wrestler but became great in standup.

I hope Silva takes it.  but it's silly to root for anyone since ultimately the better guy will win/whoever connects first/submits first.

I wanted to drop a bill on Meisha since the odds are so fucking great!

And thanks for the links!

Has anybody used these links. I tried sportsbun and all I've been doing for the last hour is installing shit. It's fucking up my computer as it's crashed several time. I've downloaded all the shit but still no stream and now I have to go back and uninstall all the crap that it's been downloaded. It even changed my home page and browser settings. Avoid these links. I've tried so many of them and it's all the same. You are forced to download shit and it fucks up you computer and you never get the livestream. Right now malwarebytes is going crazy with all this crap that's trying to force it's way on my computer.

What's fucked up is that even after you download all the shit and try to play the stream it keeps telling you to download the same shit again. I have pops coming up left and right and my virus program is lighting up. Right now some scan is going on by "PC Performer" that I can't even stop.

Come on OMR, why do you put up these links when it fucks up your computer?
