Have u tried less weight, higher reps, and less rest between sets?

Biomechanically u should be able to limit trap involvement by not heaving the dumbells up.
yeah been doing 22lbs dumbels and feels like all traps to the point of pain in them

This is a good start A. You're learning. Drop side laterals from your shoulder training for 3 months. Find a substitute, there are dozens, and then revisit seated side laterals in 3 months if you are not happy with your deltoid's results.

When doing side lateral raises:

1.  Make sure you bring the dumbells down to your side (not to the front of you)
 
2.  When you go up, make sure your arms are parallel to the ground (not any higher)

3.  Hold the dumbells in a way that the back of your palm (where your pinky is) is closest to the weight, and when you bring your arms up, keep your wrists slightly bent forward (as if the weight is going to fall forward from your hands to the ground - pinky side higher than you thumb side)

Do seated Bradford presses immediately followed by laterals behind your back,immediately followed by wide grip upright rows to lower pec area.......thank me later for the new side delt mass.

You`ll have to train lighter but the lack of rest will more than compensate by the increased intensity it creates...lighter weight feels real heavy real fast and your delts will scream in pain.

Thanks,I find that they are one of the best shoulder moves due to the continuous tension.

The traps serve to pull the weight UP

Concentrate on pushing the dumbbells out away from your body, don't worry about trying to lift them up.

Whenever people at the gym ask me for delt help, I always make them grab the 10lb dumbells, sit in a chair, and do lateral raises that break parallel. Tempo is 3 count up, brief pause, 3 count down.

I've rarely had anyone make it to 20 reps without having to drop the weight because their delts are on fire.

IMO there's no magic movement. Just learning to control the weight with maximal contraction and tension, while going slow enough to feel the movement and minimize any swing.

Really good advice.

I find that if you do laterals with light dumbells held at the outside of your quads and you then learn to "pull" with your side delt,or "push" like you said,it is the best way for a person to harness the mind/muscle connection........the most important aspect of training.

Learning to feel the laterals this way,then slowly building up to decent poundages later on and doing regular laterals is the best way for a person to train if they aren`t feeling the delts working.

too many people go way too heavy on laterals thus working traps as opposed to delts.

Do them one arm at a time and pivot out with delt rather than lifting trap to initiate movement.

Cut out all isolation movements, take a month off from training delts, then just do front presses, your shoulders will grow again...

drop the weight,when you doing it right even with 25lbs db will fry yor delt at 10-12 reps

That was my Fathers name now dead. I think maybe press two motorcycle engines overhead.
