Sarah Palin admits that she never READ PHIL ROBERTSON'S ARTICLE
« on: December 26, 2013, 02:54:33 PM »
 ::)

So much for reading " all of em,' any of em" ...

Sarah Palin -- one of Phil Robertson's strongest supporters -- admitted SHE HASN'T READ THE GQ ARTICLE that ignited the firestorm!!!!

Palin appeared on Fox News Channel's "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren" the other night ... when Greta asked if Phil's explanation about why he disapproved homosexuality was too graphic in the magazine article.

Palin's response -- "I haven't read the article ... I don't know exactly how he said it."

Funny, Palin was one of the first people to defend Robertson after the story broke earlier this month -- on Dec. 18 she took to Facebook to write, "Free speech is an endangered species. Those 'intolerants' hatin and taking on the 'Duck Dynasty' patriarch for voicing his personal opinion are taking on all of us."

Somewhere, Kate Couric is probably chuckling ..

what does her reading the entire article have to do with her views on the comments that the libtard left seems to have issue with?

Did she know what statements he made?

I havent read the article either, I bet your libtard fairy ass hasnt either....

that doesnt suprise me, but that still doesnt mean you read the article....

it also doesnt mean shit about whether or not palin knew what his comments where or explain why she needed to read the entire article before your fairy ass felt she was qualified to speak on his comments.

werent you the one discussing "classmate says obama was gay crackhead in college..." earlier today?

LOL for the last time, should we entertain these marginally interesting, completely pointless stories, or not?  I'm cool either way, i'm just seeking consistency here.

I can understand because Vince is a gay man stuff like this matters to him. I've never seen the show myself but it seems to me this entire thing is manufactured outrage.  If you don't like it, turn the station.

I've been reading about how celebrity interviews are normally conducted.   Celebrities and the network usually have full editorial discretion.  The network will step in when they believe something said in an interview will harm their star or the network.  None of that seems to have transpired even though an A&E represenative was present during the interview.

A&E is smart enough to know that what as said wouldn't alienate the duck dynasty fan base.  But make it about challenging Christian values and a lot of people who might not have watched the show will tune in to support it.  A great way to generate publicity and increase viewership.  Hell, there was a duck dynasty marathon on yesterday.

I'm not surprised she didn't read the article and think that's par for the course for Sarah Palin. I do think that this is something that happens fairly frequently though, and not just from Palin, or from the right. Something is said, someone is offended and, all of a sudden, attention whores jump into the fray in an effort to remain relevant.

What I do find funny, however, is that Sarah Palin seems to think that the reaction against him, somehow, violated his right to speak freely. And nobody, at least as far as I know, has challenged her on this and asked her "what are you talking about? The government didn't violate the duck guy's 1st Amendment rights, and no agent of the Government did either. The 1st Amendment is a shield against the Government and the Government only. It doesn't shield you from criticism from other private actors. After all, they have a 1st Amendment too, no?

Why does she need to read the entire article to comment on specific comments within it? as long as she knew what comments where at the heart of the issue...

I agree with you on the 1st ammendment bit though

Why does she need to read the entire article to comment on specific comments within it? as long as she knew what comments where at the heart of the issue...

Oh she doesn't need to. I think that my post made clear that people these days will comment on just about anything. It's her prerogative; all I can do is speak to my personal policy, which is to:
  • not comment on topics that I know little or nothing about; and
  • make sure that before criticizing someone about a statement, I read what they actually said, instead of what others allege they said.

But, that's an aside. You write that she didn't need to read the article "as long as she knew what comments where at the heart of the issue." Did she? When asked a question about the comments that the Duck Dynasty guy made, and her viewpoint, her exact answer was: "I haven't read the article ... I don't know exactly how he said it."

This speaks volume to me. I don't know if that meets your threshold about knowing the comments at the heart of the issue. It seems to me that it does not. It's really a recurring pattern with Sarah Palin. She picks an issue and then, without trying to examine it, much less understand it, spits out a bunch of "statements" expressing her outrage and disbelief, without caring if those criticisms are applicable or even valid. And why does she do that? Because Sarah Palin is (like most, if not all, politicians) a media whore.

No! No! She doesn't sell gold bars. And you don't want gold bars anyways, because you can't use them to easily buy one square of toilet paper when the inevitable collapse of the world comes along. Only her plastic cards will be good then. They have holograms you see!

I agree which is why I asked, I believe the question she was responding to was in regards to his reasoning behind the comments and not the comments themselves.

This is correct. I do not sell gold bars. I acquire them.

I don't think she could be commenting on or defending comments she has no knowledge of.

It's irresponsible. We've all done it at some point or other, but when you have a national platform, it's wrong, ...especially when done through some desperate bid to remain relevant.

Oh come on. It's Christmas! ;D

I agree which is why I asked, I believe the question she was responding to was in regards to his reasoning behind the comments and not the comments themselves.

I think it was more about whether the comments were "graphical" and she claimed to not have read them. Which, to me, suggests that she was responding to an outrage that she didn't really know about. She just knew that there was some outrage about some topic and this would give her another 30 seconds of attention.

As I have said before, I don't think much of Sarah Palin. I didn't before she hit the national stage and I didn't after she left it; I find her uncouth, uneducated, simple-minded and extremely arrogant and presumptuous. I'm surprised that people are still willing to listen to her, and in my opinion, her commentary is no different than a past-her-prime pornstar who poses suggestive pictures of increasing promiscuity in an effort to attract attention. When it comes down to it, I'm just not interested in watching Sarah Palin spreading her proverbial pussy for the camera.

I don't know if it's the Christmas spirit at work, ...or whether I got hit on the head by a falling frozen tree branch, ...but I agreed with EVERYTHING you just said. I find myself doing that more and more these days, and quite frankly, ...I'm finding it rather disturbing. LOL   ;D
