We get cyclones every summer but thankfully most go out to sea and sizzle out. Or they head up North and miss my town. What was scarey was receiving a text to evacuate and I didn't have the money to just purchase three airfares with only 24 hours notice. So I stuck it out.... Packed up my sentimental stuff, pearls and a couple of photo albums and sedated my cats and put them in a cage. The cyclone changed course and wiped out mission beach and hit cairns also.
