funniest part is you dont get that Larry David's entire schtick (and writing style) has and always will be that the entire point is to seem totally serious and neurotic about asinine things. So ya, he is serious. The point of his comedic angle is that he's 90% serious, 0% joking and 10% neurotic is hell. That is the essence of Larry David and Seinfeld (which he co-wrote with Jerry).

Now, onto the topic at hand.
BALDING. This is a minor setback for well adjusted people. If you are good looking, have a good job and have good social skills (i.e. funny), girls will not care at all if you have a receding hair line. Good looking guys with receding hair or baldness can pull hot girls all the time. Ask girls if they care about thinning hair if everything else is good. They will always say its not a huge factor. In fact, looks in general are much less important to girls than men. If you're otherwise appealing and doing well for yourself, balding is a minor speed bump.
