They watch old World War One/Two documentaries? Or, is this just an American pastime? I'm watching a program on military history channel right now, and watching the nationalism and pride in country is pretty cool. From what I read on BBC it seems that nationalism is on the rise, with chance of a referendum in the form of EMP members this year. Is it coming back? Why did you guys lose your patriotism, sick of the wars it causes?
I'm french and i'm sure it's because of socialism/communism and the plague of pacifism.
I traveled two time in usa for few week, and i discovered that in France we don't have a common idea, common value.
Our flag, our hymn means nothing for us because socialist make our flag and hymn nothing more than the symbol of our colonialist racist past.
So in France if a white guy wear a tshirt with the french flag i'll be in trouble very soon, being called a racist by "hebrew" and arab and being called a member of the national party by other white socialist.
This is the way we live in France.
