Not forgetting of course that he US government spends more per head on healthcare than those European countries with socialized healthcare

You guys should not be telling Europeans they have a poor system, you should be asking your government why they spend more but provide less than in Europe.
And what will USA get with that money? There is Norway in the top of the list, so let's compare US to that with WHO statistic:
I skip the population figures, so first we see that Gross national income per capita (PPP international $) is 61,460 in Norway, and 48,820 in USA.
Life expectancy at birth m/f (years) 79/83 in Norway, and 76/81 in USA.
Probability of dying under five (per 1 000 live births) 3 in Norway, and 7 in USA.
Probability of dying between 15 and 60 years m/f (per 1 000 population) 77/49 in Norway, and 131/77 in the USA.
Total expenditure on health per capita (Intl $, 2011) 5,674 in Norway, and 8,608 in USA
Total expenditure on health as % of GDP (2011) 9.1 in Norway, and 17.9 in Good Ol' U.S. of A.
It seem to me that they are fucked in every which way it is possible. Those codfish eaters born healthier, got more income, live in better health and they die older than Americans
