Mike apparently said steroids were a gateway for heroin because once he lost his fear of using needles, heroin was open territory.

Now before anyone calls BS on this, I think that makes sense.  He probably would not have tried heroin if he hadn't previously lost his fear of needles.

But I don't know much about this topic.  He was in the BFTO 2002 DVD looking pretty good at almost 47.

I read the same thing in an article he wrote. He also spoke of using slin in the late 80's and having close a call with it.

Mike a mass-monster?  he really didn't compete at that heavy a weight and he was tall 6'1" if you ask me in this day & age he would have really prospered , he has the frame to carry a really big ammount of muscle , he had awesome delts , chest and arms , medicore legs , he couldn't hang with Haney in the size department , much like Berry Demey who also could have been much heavier.

Can't recall him admitting to heroin. He was on coke and Nubain in the 90s as I recall. During the last WBF show he went and scored coke between the prejudging and night show LOL.

Mike was a mass monster. He competed at a heavier weight than haney in 85, infact the biggest out of all the competitors that day. Unbelievable upper body and arms that put haney to shame (no great surprise there though)

Yeah, he had arms over haney but that's about it.  Haney had superior pecs, back, delts, and of course lower body.

A)  He was not a Mass monster.

B)  I call bullshit.  He went down the heroin road (or whatever drugs he took) because he chose to; steroids were in no way to blame.  There are tens of thousands of gym rats all across this country who have no fear of needles, whom regularly inject, and whom have no inclination or plan to try heroin.

It’s sad he got hooked on drugs but it’s even sadder when people try to blame someone or something for their own poor choices. 

Steroids can be blamed for lots of problems but Mike's drug habit is not one of them.

flex magazine had a very good two part interview with Mike Christian back in the 90's after the WBF fell through

he admitted to being hooked on cocaine

he also said that Vince fucked him over the second year; he didn't even put Christian on the WBF billboards in Mike's hometown

He is doing well he bought a custom wheel shop and puts customs rims on high end cars.

He is drug free and doing well.

He calls me every once in a while.

He trains everyday at Golds Venice
