Prayer in schools.  Creationism.  Stuff like that.

Who is pushing prayer in schools?  Or creationism?  I haven't seen either one of those issues on the national platform.  I haven't heard of any governors pushing for this.  Are you talking about local candidates or politicians?

abortion, gay marriage, etc..

all driven by their personal religious beliefs which they insist we must all follow ( or at least willingly allow it to be forced on us or the phrase that I've noticed Repubs love to say.....have it "rammed down our throat")

I already mentioned the gay marriage thing.  I like separation of church and state.

don't you think it's interesting that Bum pretends to be completely oblivious of the "pushing of religion" from the political right?

Preservation of traditional marriage was a bipartisan issue until very recently.  DOMA was signed by Clinton.  Clinton instituted Don't Ask, Don't Tell.  Every state that put it on ballot supported it until about a year ago, and even now more than thirty states still have it on the books.  Obama and Biden had a recent epiphany.

In any event, I've been saying for years that homosexual marriage is inevitable, and I believe triad marriages are next.  But those are not issues that sway national elections.

And how do you figure homosexual marriage has anything to do with church/state separation?

Republicans used to support birth control mandates before suddenly turning against it

The right needs to abandon pointless issues like preventing gay marriage, the war on drugs and pushing religion.

I agree. Without thinking too hard about it, it seems like the main issue is that it's too hard to get idiots to vote on economic issues only.

As long as teachers have a union they will bow to the party that caters to them.  To that end, the educators themselves lean left and indoctrinate children.  It's a survival mechanism of sorts.

As a former teacher, I wish to challenge this...

First, let's agree upon the fact most of what is determined about what is taught, is determined at the state level.  Can't blame obama when the States themselves control teh vast majority of things:

The U.S. Constitution leaves the responsibility for public K-12 education with the states.
States and localities are the primary sources of K-12 education funding and always have been.
There are no unfunded federal education "mandates." Every federal education law is conditioned on a state or other grantee's decision to accept federal program funds.
Source: http://www2.ed.gov/about/overview/fed/10facts/index.html?exp=3

Now that we've established any "liberalization" of the school system would be at the state level (or lower), let's move on.
We have 30 Repub governors with absolute veto power to squash any terrible school policy.  That's 60% of them.

So exactly WHO is moving everything liberal?

feh. I agree.  I couldn't find any really good Triad pics.

("Triad" does generally mean a group of three but, come on, when you hear "Triad", you think about Asian gangs having shoot-outs in expensive Chinese restaurants, don't you?)

BTW, regardless of what any headline-grabbing articles you've been reading are saying, legal polygamy is not next.  There isn't enough demand for it.

I could maybe see that changing if the gulf between the haves and have nots in this country keeps getting wider, though.  If bitches be poor enough, they'll be happy to join some rich guy's harem.

for fucks sake, do you get a hard on for being a dousche or what....

Since when does calmly stating a differing opinion as well as a few facts to back it up constitute being a douche?
