He audibly responds "Okay, I'm sorry!" and "I'm trying!" while the officers stretch his arm back. The police officers claim that, unable to get Thomas to comply with the requests, they used a taser on him (up to five times according to a witness statement, and the video footage), and in the video Thomas can be heard screaming "Dad! Dad!"

The city tried to pay off Thomas' father (a retired cop himself) to make the case go away, but he refused the money

This is bull shit. Cops used to be professional enough to know better. This man was mentally ill and not in a violent way. Settling the civil case would have not made the criminal case "go away," so I don't know what Thomas' father is trying to imply.

It's very possible the only thing that would have subdued Thomas was very strong, anti-schizophrenic medication, which obviously these officers did not have.

The City of Fullerton wanted to minimize media reporting on the case, and so wanted to pay off the father because he waged a non-stop media campaign in the pursuit of justice for his son.

I live just south of Fullerton and have been following this case since it happened.

Apparently, the incident was triggered by a phony crime report made from a local restaurant to remove Thomas, who was well known in the area as “Crazy Kelly,” so that he would not offend diners. Ramos, who knew Thomas from prior encounters, found him sitting harmlessly on a bench at the nearby Fullerton bus depot. During several minutes of often irrational banter, Ramos accused Thomas of “rattling car doors” in the parking lot. After Thomas refused to sit still with his legs stretched out in front of him and his hands on his knees, as Ramos demanded, Ramos put on latex gloves and said: “Now, see my fists? You're fucking deluded.  It's the idea of power that draws people to the police force.  Many of them live for abusing their power knowing they can get away with it.  Of course they go to work hoping this shit can happen, they get a hard on for it, because they know they can do it with impunity.  If you think the Police Force is comprised of only good men, you're wrong.  If you think these police officers are an anomaly, consider the fact the entire Police Force raised enough money for the accused defense.  The ENTIRE Police force thought this MURDER was justified.  The Police force is the most sophisticated criminal organisation created by the Elites for the Elites. Have you ever noticed the similarities between the police and organised crime, the brotherhood, the code of silence, the justified use of force etc.

More and more I am beginning to agree with this. I had a cop try to pull me over in a mall parking lot. I went around a car that was going really slow. I refused to stop for him, I instead went to my intended destination at petsmart, his overhead lights where on, I parked and started to get out of my car. He wanted to know why I didn't stop. I replied are you serious. This is private property why would I stop for you. He then asked for drivers licence and registration. To which I replied, unless you have a valid reason which you do not then I do not have to show you. This is a parking lot and traffic violations do not apply. He said he was there to make sure that people where driving safe for the holidays. I said that's great, do that on the public streets where you have jurisdiction to wrote traffic citations. Have a nice day and I proceeded to the pet store. I hate cops that want to flaunt their badge,uniform and lights. They must have gotten picked on in school or something.

I do not hate cops. It's the fat out of shape power hungry small minded losers that wear the badge that pisses me off. I actually respect the police, but cops like this need to be put down in a massive way. They should be placed with the hardest of criminals in general population at prison.
