what to think ~ I like the beginning of his posing routine. Pretty crazy ~ I don't know where he's gone or what he looks like today, but I think 5 years ago was prob his best?

(BTW, he is actually one guy that did talk a lot about drug use if I remember correctly)

I think he used to have a column in MMI years ago where he really criticized Gustavo Badell, Silvio Samuel and Melvin Anthony. I believe at one time he even said that Phil Heath would NEVER stand on stage with the likes of Jay Cutler or Ronnie Coleman...

I specifically remember him saying that a certain bodybuilder ruined his physique the day of the show by taking Lasix and "sucking the life out of his body and his mind" ~ he also used to say that when a bodybuilder was in top-shape, he would call it the "near death" experience and that there was a big difference between "separated" and "grainy" ~

Anyone else remember him talking like this or am I talking out my ass?

he was talking about Melvin Anthony and chad nicholls giving him his 'super secret exotic mercurial diuretic'

I think shari's best year was probably 2000 or 2001. it was all downhill from there... hell, and in 01 he wasn't all that great.

I remember getting a temporary ban from musclemayhem for saying 'hey king, just saw a ruff-cut of Battle for the Olympia 2002, you gotta rotate the shots a lil, you're getting a knot in your left delt bro'... after shari thowing a hissy fit about "I've never used synthol you hater.. blah blah blah", and I said "I never said it was synthol, it's clearly a site injection" to which Tom Prince replied "I met King when he was 18 and he had those same shoulders back then blah blah blah".

fuck shari. dude's a bitch.

2001 he got 10th in the Mr.O, should never have beat Vince Taylor but there you go.

In 2002 he bulked up too heavy and was way out of contest shape 4 weeks out (I'm sure it was Ron Harris wrote somewhere he was never going to make it in). He made it in, 237 pounds as opposed to 245 the year before, fuck knows what he did last minute.

Never did as well again. Just kept getting too fat offseason.

I remember Dorian saying how King's physique hadn't improved much at the 2004 Arnold, and King later told MuscleMag how Dorian "lost a lot of fans" that night for saying so.

Yeah, I'm sure that a six-time Mr. Olympia and ambassador to bodybuilding lost a whole slew of his admirers for blaspheming Kamali like that.

Looks like after 2001 he got lazy. Decreased his range of motion while adding more weight doesn't equal to increased intensity...Someone said they seen him in the gym all the time and the guy basically just trained on machines while talking on a phone. Guess he thought he could increase the dose to make up from lack of real training...Extremely caught up on what the scale said to him :-\

Not exactly sure which year but I remember him blaming chad for how he looked. He made a thread about it on mayhem about where the line was for blaming himself or his nutritional guru.

Instead he should have blamed his parents for his genetics.

His mid section looks like a well-fed wood louse.

Head like a f*cking medicine ball.

He truly looks like his personality - horrible.

Met him at a local show - he looked awful in person.
