This photo was a huge poster at Surfers Paradise in Queensland. The bloke looks a bit like Charles Atlas. Photo taken about 1950 to 55 when women wore swimming costumes (bathing suits) with the modesty flap. Not good for males to see any bulges down there ya know!

Could have been Booty's grandmother in photo with Charles Atlas!

Gal has a great figure too. People would pay the guy to spray on some oil to protect against sun burn.

Booty would be fun to meet. I was up in Queensland on the Gold Coast recently for 10 days but had a sore back so didn't travel much. She lives up in Mackay which is a long way to drive.

This is part of the beach at Surfers Paradise. The beaches in Australia are amazing. Miles and miles of beaches for over 1000 miles on the East Coast. Surfers is popular with tourists who love the place. I have yet to have a swim at this beach.

Surfers is a must see if you are visiting from overseas. The Gold Coast is a bit like southern Florida. Lots of high rise buildings and just a great place to live. Beaches close by, weather always warm. Magic place for us Canadians.

I am posting some photos so those who haven't been to Surfers can see what it is like. Look at the pristine beaches. They go for miles here on the Gold Coast. All the way down to Coolangatta and beyond. 'Coolangatta' means beautiful view in the Aborigine language. They will be having a professional surfing contest in early March. I often go up to shoot that event. It is held at Snapper Rocks.

I will have to visit and see for myself. What is unfortunate is that north of Hervey Bay it probably isn't safe to swim in the ocean in the warm months for fear of being stung by nasty Box Jelly Fish.

Yes, women can go topless on beaches in Australia. However, about 20 years ago the locals heard that exposure of delicate parts to the dangerous ultra violet could cause skin cancer. So the locals cover up now. Some backpackers from overseas go topless but few nowadays as well. The good old days are gone!

No Aussies have been told to avoid the sun completely..... Any sun exposure, not just delicate areas. Now it's common for many to be vitamin D deficient.

Yes, these limestone cliffs are receding inches per year. They are a great tourist attraction. The particular view I had required a long walk to the cliff edge over bush. Was worth it for the view.
