Was this crossfit?
« on: January 18, 2014, 05:27:39 AM »
A couple days ago I saw a bunch of people running across the city, each of them holding a plate that appeared to be a 45lb. However since women carried that plate like it was nothing, I have a hard time believing it weighed more than a few pounds.

So, was the point in making a plate appear to be 45 and what's the point in running trough a commercial district???  ???

Crossfit or one of those fitness bootcamp deals. They use bumper plates, so unless it was color coded, you can't tell the weight.

They'd argue that they run outside the gym to test their functional strength in real world areas, and that has some merit, but they also love the attention, and free publicly for their gyms. It could also be a mini competition, many of the Crossfit gyms hold them like that.

Yes, to me looked like it was done more for attention than anything else.

PD: they were running in the front of a shopping mall, I mean, I'm sure they could have choosen a more convenient, fitting location, but a shopping mall?  ???
