Wow, this isn't going to end with BridgeGate.  This mayor seems to have a lot of evidence that $ was withheld for political purposes.  imagine him denying certain states money after a natural disaster because he disliked their Dem governor.

US attorney inquiry into Christie widens

The New Jersey mayor who publicly claimed this weekend that Gov. Chris Christie’s administration tried to withhold hurricane relief funds met Sunday in private with the U.S. attorney for the state of New Jersey.

“This afternoon I met with the U.S. Attorney’s office for several hours at their request and provided them with my journal and other documents,” Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer said in a statement Sunday. “As they pursue this investigation, I will provide any requested information and testify under oath about the facts of what happened when the Lieutenant Governor came to Hoboken and told me that Sandy aid would be contingent on moving forward with a private development project.”

This is the first time something has been tied to Christie HIMSELF.

NJ mayor: Sandy aid ultimatum came from Christie

Source: Associated Press

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- The Democratic mayor of a town severely flooded by Superstorm Sandy said Sunday that she was told an ultimatum tying recovery funds to her support for a prime real estate project came directly from Republican Gov. Chris Christie, a claim a Christie spokesman called "categorically false."

Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer told CNN's "State of the Union with Candy Crowley" that the message pushing a Rockefeller Group commercial development was delivered by Christie's lieutenant governor, Kim Guadagno, when the two were at an event in Hoboken in May to celebrate the opening of a new supermarket.

"The lieutenant governor pulled me aside and said, essentially, `You've got to move forward with the Rockefeller project. This project is really important to the governor.' And she said that she had been with him on Friday night and that this was a direct message from the governor," Zimmer recalled Guadagno saying.

Hoboken, a low-lying city of 50,000 across from Manhattan, was nearly swallowed by the Hudson River during Sandy, with three of its electrical substations and most of its firehouses flooded, businesses and homes submerged, the train station inundated with water, and people trapped in high-rises because elevators didn't work and lobbies were underwater. Zimmer has proposed a comprehensive flood mitigation plan and has applied for $100 million in grants to help make it happen.

From where I sit "BridgeGate" wasn't that big of a deal but this new scandal is much, much more serious.

This is some Thailand-level corruption and I think some serious penalties are in order for those responsible.

Bridgegate made thousands late, and maybe cost one woman in ambulance her life.

You're right... this scandal kept thousands HOMELESS or living in 2 feet of water in their home - because christie wanted to punish his political enemies.  Imagine living with roaches for 9 months because you have a dem mayor you didnt vote for.

This is the difference between conserves and libs, generally.   No repubs are defending Christie because this bs is simply unacceptable.  But w libs when its the pos commie rat that they voted for doing stuff like this - its perfectly ok w them.

at some point, nobody is going to believe "My whole inner circle knew, but I didn't...."

If this statement was true, Obama's approval number would be 0%.

Former U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner angrily warned the chairman of Standard & Poor's parent that the rating agency would be held accountable for its 2011 decision to strip the United States of its coveted "triple-A" rating, a new court filing shows.
Harold McGraw, the chairman of McGraw-Hill Financial Inc , made the statement in a declaration filed by S&P on Monday, as it defends against the government's $5 billion fraud lawsuit over its rating practices prior to the 2008 financial crisis.

McGraw said he returned a call from Geithner on Aug. 8, 2011, three days after S&P cut the U.S. credit rating to "AA-plus," and that Geithner told him "you are accountable" for an alleged "huge error" in S&P's work.

"He said that 'you have done an enormous disservice to yourselves and to your country,'" and that S&P's conduct would be "looked at very carefully," McGraw said. "Such behavior could not occur, he said, without a response from the government."

While the timing & circumstance are somewhat questionable, ...were you aware that the Government was in the process of investigating S&P at the time? It is debatable whose actions were retaliatory if at all.
