Brilliant GOP mind at work here
« on: January 22, 2014, 04:46:12 PM »
Mirrors what McWay was preaching a while back on the G&O board.

http://www.examiner.com/article/gop-candidate-claims-autism-and-dementia-are-god-s-punishment

Suzanne Atanus, Republican candidate for U.S. House of Representatives in Illinois, claims autism and dementia are God’s punishment for abortion and LGBT rights.

Atanus claims that God is “angry” with the United States and has sent scourges like autism and dementia to punish the American people, according to a report published Jan. 22 by the Chicago Daily Herald.

Atanus is seeking the Republican nomination for the 9th Congressional District in Illinois. Her opponent for the GOP nomination is David Earl Williams III, a first time candidate and U.S. Navy veteran, who says he voted for Barack Obama in 2008 but has since changed his political leanings.

I wonder how Sarah Palin feels about this.

Pretty dumb if she actually said it.  I don't see a quote from her?

Either would work.  Isn't that what the tea party advocates?

What's even more scary is that she doesn't even have the common sense to keep comments like that out of the public ear.

Her views are her views but how can she not see how incredibly damaging that could be?

When has the Tea Party advocated the killing of people with opposing viewpoints?

You realize your view is just as kooky (and probably worse) than hers?

Of course they have.  Look at the little board crybaby here and what he posts all the times about bombing cities and nuking DC.

Your faith is just as kooky (and probably worse) than hers.

I don't know who "the little board crybaby is," but that person isn't the Tea Party.  I've never heard the Tea Party advocate violence.  Are you making that statement based solely on someone who posts on the board, or something else?

My faith might be kooky (according to you), but I've never advocated killing people who have a different opinion or viewpoint.

Oh so you are saying that 3333 isn't Tea Party?  Despite he saying that he is?  Who are you to determine who is and who isn't Tea Party?

Anne Coulter saying to kill liberal hecklers isn't advocating violence and out right death?

No one person is the Tea Party.  Anyone can claim to be "the party."  If you're talking about what a "party" does or does not advocate, then you need to look at the party platform, etc.

And when did Soul Crusher say he is the Tea Party?

If Anne Coulter said liberal hecklers should be killed, that is crazy.  Doesn't make you wanting to kill people with opposing viewpoints any less kooky.

The leftwing movement...specifically the Weather Underground...Ol barry's friends estimated that once they took over they'd have to kill 25 million people to solidify power. The Tea Party..as in those that went to rallies and those who hold office never said shit about race or advocating violence. That shit was all leftwing fantasy. the Tea Party is about fiscal responsibility and keeping an inept government away from our friggen pockets.

You say that that the Tea Party is about "fiscal responsibility and keeping an inept government away from our friggen pockets" and perhaps it is... for you. For some the Tea Party is about social issues and for others it's about dealing with illegal immigration. For some it's about fiscal policies and for others about the war on terror.

But you don't speak for the entire Tea Party movement and your attempt to circumscribe what the Tea Party is and isn't about fails for one simple reason: the Tea Party is a moniker for a disparate group of people holding a wide range of beliefs.

I've heard some people who identify strongly with the Tea Party advocate for violence and I've heard other people who identify strongly with the Tea Party renounce violence in no uncertain terms. Now maybe those who advocate violence are agents provocateurs and maybe they aren't. Maybe those who renounce violence are plants trying to temper the movement and maybe they aren't. The simple fact is that it's hard to pin down any meaningful common set of beliefs that all Tea Party people share.

That's not to say that people on the left aren't demonizing the Tea Party - they have in the past and perhaps they still do. But how is that different that business as usual - for both sides of the aisle?

You have people on the right demonizing the ACLU and people on the left demonizing economists. You have people on the left blaming the military-industrial complex
and people on the right blaming hippies and flower-power. You have people on the left seeking to control how people manage their wallet and people on the right seeking to control how people use their genitals.

Perhaps you see a difference in the right and the left. I see none. They're two sides of the same vile and corrupt coin.

Sure...post a video showing a tea partier advocating violence..an official of the tea party.

I guess you've forgotten about an Tea Party candidate Sharron Angle who suggested "2nd amendment remedies" if this Congress keeps going the way it's going

Quote
You know, our Founding Fathers, they put that Second Amendment in there for a good reason and that was for the people to protect themselves against a tyrannical government. And in fact Thomas Jefferson said it's good for a country to have a revolution every 20 years.

I hope that's not where we're going, but, you know, if this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies and saying my goodness what can we do to turn this country around? I'll tell you the first thing we need to do is take Harry Reid out.

Perhaps you should re-read my post. I relayed my personal experience with people who self-identify as members of the Tea Party to make the point that you cannot just circumscribe what the Tea Party is and isn't. It means different things to different people. Whatever the official line of the party is makes no difference. I am unsure why this confuses you.

As for your specific request, I don't maintain a video library of Tea Party meetups nor am I particularly willing to go spelunking on the Internet to find such.
