If a lifetime natural guy with average genetics starts training at 18 and benches 135. What would be a realistic max bench can he expect over his career?Huh

i don't think that a 1015 negative drop to the chest with a billion ply shirt on stage at the Olympia while wearing sunglasses indoors would be out of the question.

Hey man...

You forgot to mention the beanie.

A Cleveland Browns beanie is mandatory!

Makes you look "tough". People will disregard obesity... BAM!

Any dude who can bench double their bodyweight should be considered strong.  The catch is that it must be done w/o any assistance (drugs, bench shirts) and the rep must be full range.  Wink

brooklyn lifter,  for your age and size, i'd say anything over 200lbs is realistic.   i'd shoot for a goal of about 300-400lbs over a few years. just my opinion.  how strong and how much do you bench now?

That was me some 12 years ago. Right now i am around 260 for one. totally natural and about 165lb.  Just started back on the creatine and expect to hit 275 for three. My ultimate goal is three plates (320). I give myself four years to do this. Is this realistic???

I went from 275 to near 400 in less than a year, natural.

How tall are you?I feel it also has to be taken into consideration as the leverage factor is different between a tall or short person.

I would probably expect you being realistic here being able to build up to a 375-425 lb bench.Somewhere in that range. This is however taking into consideration all the other aspects such as diet(nutrition),training style etc.Realistically 315 for 1 in 4 years is being over realistic. You should be able to do this within a year of training I would think. The 375-425 should take you a few yrs to build up to esp. the higher end of them numbers w/a rep range of between 1-6.

At 5ft 8in, 450 could be an attainable goal for you by your mid-late 20's.  Really at that hieght 450 isn't all that much, you could wieght like 240ish and be really stacked steroid free if you took the time, but your bodyfat isn't gonna be that low.

Myself, I plan on benching about 380 this summer/fall at about 255 bodyweight but I am tall at 6ft 4in.  My arms will be over 20inches though so go figure.

best advice.....get a spotter so you can get used to handling heavy weights with safety, even if you can't do the weight by yourself yet, sometimes all it takes is a few fingers under the bar.

405 is achievable for any natural lifter over 200 lbs b/w. If they train long enough and eat like crazy.

The toughest part is training through injuries and continuing to find routines to add 10-15 lbs to your bench.

very few people can bench three plates...if you can do that, then you are doing quite well.....most people can't do more than two plates plus...
