Anybody use heroin?

Since it's in the news so much I've started to get curious about it. What is it about this drug that makes it so addicting? What feelings do you get from this drug that you don't get from any other drug?
 
Now I read that they found 70 bags of heroin in Philip Hoffman's pad. So if comes in powdered form? So, if that's the case, how do you make it into an injectable?

How much worse is heroin than say coke or pain killers like oxy?

it's an opiate, so you feel warm and fuzzy.. and content.

heroin comes in powder and tar. you can inject both. tar you'd have to break down with lemon juice before mixing with water (or vinegar? I dunno. never banged heroin)

powder you'd just mix with water in a spoon and heat over a flame till it dissolves. some ppl put a little sponge/ciggerette filter to soak up the mixture and then stick the needle into the sponge/filter and draw out the liquid, thinking the filter will filter out toxins... I dunno, but I don't think that's gonna work too well, plus I'd think you'd lose some active ingredient in the filter. if it were me, I'd just heat in a spoon and shoot it.

never got high off heroin. I tried smoking a $10 thing of tar once though, but I didn't inhale the smoke right or something because I didn't feel anything. lol.. probably a good thing I didn't. I ended up saying "fuck this... this is retarded." and tossed it. lol

Basically this.  It's kinda like a drunk feeling, in that you feel warm, happy, and with an inflated sense of self worth.  But you don't feel like being loud and moving around.

The filter is there so that the particles don't clog up your slin pin.

It delivers pretty much the same feeling as oxycontin, but it's much cheaper. That's why the wealthy generally do prescription pills and the poor do heroin

Its the most horrible substance on earth. It is pure evil in the form of black death. It reels you in by taking your pain away and giving you feelings of warm, fuzzy, euphoria.... and then drops you and leaves you in a puddle of sweat, vomit, and feces while you shake in horrible agony, every nerve ending is lit up like a chritsmas tree from just being alive... and just a drop will end the pain and make you ok... until a few hours later, when you wind up back in a puddle of sweat, vomit, and shit.

Best thing ever, but you have to be able to stay your distance.
Majority of people will never be able to do such a thing once a week and so the gates of hell are wide open for them.
Longtime friend of mine was a Heroin addict for most of his life and that gave me the chance to experience some aspects of the drug and possible life changes brought forth by its use.
