Old man knees...deca?
« on: February 04, 2014, 04:07:40 AM »
So, I am in the middle of my rehab from a ruptured achilles and I am slowly working squats back into my routine. LIGHT squats. Before my injury, I noticed some pretty significant pain at the parallel part of the squat. It is still there. An ortho assessment suggested that it was potentially incipient arthritis (ugh). It gets better as I get more reps behind me.

Since this in the steroid board...deca?

Sure, it doesn't take much either, 200mg/week for joint relief.  Beware though, deca won't fix the cause of the pain, so it could potentially mask it while your knees get worse.

Do other leg exercises bother your knees too?

You know, they don't, at least not as much. It may just be time to say no mas to squatting. Even goblet squats don't bother my knees that much. It's hard to say goodbye to the broscience of "ya gotta squat" tho...

You pretty much nailed it.  If squats don't agree with you, there is zero reason to continue putting your body through it.  They are not even in my top five list of movements for leg hypertrophy and I use them more for a warmup these days than anything else.

The only folks that "need" to squat are those who are competition squatters.

man, brother, aj.listen.

if something hurts and doesnt feel right, dont do that exercise, a leson i have learned the hard way.

as for deca, it helps the bones, get ssome water in joints(but so does test), overall why not try a little bit, wont hurt.

possible deca dick kkep in mind.

for tendons and joints, if you want-can afford it, some gh will be best.

thats 1 postivie attribute of gh, it helps the joints quick and good.

It's not the money with GH, it's the every day pinning that gets to me.
