Paranoid/Delusional Disorder
« on: February 04, 2014, 06:01:47 PM »
I know a guy that has been diagnosed with it. Every time that I see this dude, he basically tells me the exact story (almost the same).

He always tells me about how people broke into his house, set up bugging devices & video surveillance equipment---- And poisoned his food. He now only buys enough food for the day. It's too risky keeping food at home.

He thinks that the plots in TV shows & movies are directed at him. He thinks that songs on the radio are about him.

He has this weird obsession with numbers (like on sports Jerseys) and thinks that the numbers have a secret meaning (ex: a jersey with #44 means that the wearer has a .44 magnum on him. But It could easily be a .45, .22, .38, AK 47, M-16, MACK 11, TEK 9).

He constantly talks about scenarios in which he was threatened or attacked in the past. He constantly see's people that are "look-a-likes" to people that had once threatened him.

Does anyone know anybody like this? Does it go away?
