  i hope he does  defintely a class act.  i was there in person when he got his 3000 hit , naturally a home run ten rows and one section away from where i was sitting. if he gets like 120 hits he'll be 6 th all time on the hit list, not too shabby.

I really thought he'd play until he was 45 and got to 4000 hits.

i was hoping he would get to 4000. at age 39 rose had played 2830 games and had 3557 hits to jeter's 2602 games and 3316 hits. at 38  rose 2668 games and 3372 hits to jeter's 2585 games and 3304 hits.  that year of injury really hurt derek's chances.
