Samir was the shit back then.  Should have been Mr O a couple more times.  Too bad he was never able to recapture his 1983 conditioning ever again.

Sammir Bannout is still in great shape.. unlike todays bodybuilders, retire after 1-2 years dead or looking like aidspatient  :-X  :-X

Samir did one great showing so he can't be compared to Arnold if only for the consistency. Also Arnold had an impact on Bbing which was way beyond the simple fact of having the best physique. Nobody judges Arnold strictly on his physique because it's impossible, every aspect of his career automatically comes into the equation. But that 83 showing is by far one of the best ever. And in my opinion way more complete than Arnold ever was.

Bannout looks unbelievable in those pics, and in 1983 was awesome... But, comparing him to Arnold? Yeah, i agree he's probably overall more complete, but he's a midget next to Arnold... The Oak was not "mainly chest and arms", he was a conditioned 6' tall monster with great structure, mindblowing arms and chest, super detailed wide back, shredded upper legs with incredible deep cuts and massive calves... And his body flow greatly... Bannout is one of the greats, but Arnold is Arnold... ;D

Something we agree on. If you look at weaknesses, I think Samir had the least weaknesses of any Mr. O ever. Arnold... lack of shoulders...Haney and Dorian weak arms... Cutler big waist... Coleman no calves big waist etc. Cant say ANY of those things about Samir in 83.

Yeah.  It's a shame he had to run head-first into Haney, but if he could've recaptured his best form, maybe he could've taken Lee in an off-year, like 1990 :?:

Samir does look thick as hell and very impressive in those '85 photos, though, sure enough.  Even his forearms had an extra pop to them.

It wasnt his physique that let him down it was his attitude.

He didn't toe the line with the Weiders.
