Dirt poor for me is not riding on the rails like a hobo eating beans out of the can.  I used the term in comparison to my previous wealth I had prior to being laid off from Alltel and vitually all of my savings when the economy tanked at the same time back in 2007.    

Nowadays I use it to my advantage and I've learned to leverage my income to my advantage.  I used to work towards a big house and a large house but now I work for a fully self sufficient property in a yurt with no bills, mortgage, or need to work a full time job so I can travel and enjoy life.
