Arnold is back and real action is alive

Expendables was maybe the return.. but Escape plan is the reinvention of action movies and Arnold's real comeback

Holy shit what an awesome flick!

Mindblowing acting from Arnold and a shining Stallone in a perfect hand-in-glove role!

A supreme supporting cast, Sam Niell, Jim Caz and the guy that shot himself in Full Metal.

Arnold did it, once again. All these guys need is a script!

It was ok, I honestly think Fortress with Christopher lambert was a better film, which escape plan copied almost entirely

The flick sucks ass. I rented it on Shaw-On-Demand and ... it started OK but soon disintegrated into total schlock crap.

And generally I'm easy to please when it comers to films.

Also: "Mindblowing" acting from Arnold? Oh brother  ::)

Arnold is probably too old to help action movies regain their true spark of the 70s, 80s and 90s, same as Sly, Willis who is doing awful appearances in crap movies, and other icons of those unforgettable times... But i liked The Last Stand overall, nothing stupidly over the top or nonsense CGI, i don't care if people rate the movie low... Same as Sly's Bullet To The Head or the Expendables, they have the old charm... A week ago i was re-watching Tango & Cash and The Last Boyscout, man, how great were those movies? They had evrything, charisma, realistic action, badass characters, awesome storyline, and so on... Not only action movies of today sucks, but also the new younger action stars are a joke, zero charisma...

All films, music, arts in general is about "borrowing"

What matters is of course who does it best.

This script is a perfect hangover classic action flick and Arnold did act much better here, than in most of his other movies.

That's horsecrap..

What other sly/arnold action movies do you think better then?

If you were easy pleased you would have directly recognized Arnold acting chops in this one.

Amazing.

Again, I think this movie eats shit. Complete dud.

And Arnold has become a tool on camera. What he once had, he no longer does.

Stick a fork in him.

Stallone, on the other hand, still has it going on (no homo). Arnold just appears like a decrepid old guy who needs to lie down and take his heart meds.

I think the last part of Escape Plan was much better than the start of the movie.

However, it was a shame that we did not see Groink or tbombz in that jail.

Guy was never an exceptional actor (surprise, suprise), but as acting itself isn't some great artistic talent, he could get by with being only average, because he had charisma and a physique. And he hit in an era when that latter attribute actually mattered.

Now he's just an old guy without a physique and in possession of ... average acting skill.

Arnold was never a great actor, didn't need it, his amazing charisma and physique carried him... But i honestly think that in some movies his acting was very good and underrated, for example in Raw Deal, The Running Man, Total Recall and Eraser...

Escape Plan was okay but nothing special.

Sabotage on the other hand looks awesome.

Arnold's best movies were:

1) Junior
2) Hercules in New York
3) Jingle all the way
4) Kindergarden Cop

Only kidding
 ;D

1) Terminator
2) Terminator 2
3) Total Recall
4) Conan the Barbarian
5) The Running Man
6) Predator

Staying Hungry is quite under rated too.

I had the chance to watch the new film no bad but Arnold's torso is similar to the average 85 year old shrunk with belt above navel.

The way he walks and moves has nothing to do with Action Hero material.

Our leader did not age well.

Good luck though,  hope it does better than Escape plan and Last Stand.

Arnold is still arnold just with an old mans body.

The Last Stand was actually not bad, the action/gun battle scenes were very well done.

Stallone is washed up. Expendables 2 was total crap

This is the best from A since true lies at least.

The last stand was so boring I couldn't get past the 15 min mark :

i'd have PREDATOR as an easy number1

agree that TERMINATOR is (quite a bit) better than T2

Most people prefer the second Terminator movie because of the superior special effects and action, but it didnt have the atmosphere and intensity of the first one. Still an amazing movie though.

I liked Predator a lot too. Actually I should have put it third.
