Just don't pay, fuck them. Also try to get the woman back on the phone but this time record it.Also google the company, chances are you arnt the first they have done this to and others have complained.

Lol yes i'll try that over the weekend if I remember, would be funny to call them on my iphone and record her arranging a 'free quotation' then call back the company an hour later and say "Hi i'm calling about a recent invoice, can I pay with this.....(play recording)

Haha maybe if I was Shizzo I would actually do this, but I need my time to lift weights and experience fresh air and stuff like that

Funny stuff man but don't put anything more in writing and don't say anything stupid on the phone.  Just disengage.  If you're still pissed off in 6 months when it's all blown over, you can do something about it then with impunity.

Lol, thanks for the sound advice. I'm not really an impulsive guy to be honest I always weigh things up and see the bigger picture....

Ultimately, could it get me in trouble with the law/council or endanger my young family = not going there, suck it up and carry on

Maybe be a good Christian, turn the other cheek, and offer the guy a feel around the other pocket?

Yes, how carnal minded of me to fantasise about such wicked behaviour!!! I will visit him at home immediately with a dozen fresh blueberry muffins with bible scriptures on the cake cases and ask for him to do another free quote

So my wife calls up a company called ABS Preservation UK, to take a look at some rising damp on our exterior wall. The woman she talks to says they will come round a do a 'free quote' for us...

Next day a bloke comes round (I'm at work) and within 10 minutes of taking a look at the problem gives my wife a quote of over a grand to fix it (massively overpriced).

Says thank you very much, we'll call you kind of thing. Next guys from another company comes and quotes £650 for same job so gets the deal (actually at my house doing it now lol)

Sooo.....just got a call from the Mrs to my office "Babe i've just received a quote for nearly £100 for the first guy who says it's a 'survey fee'?" (We actually had a surveyor come from our insurance company weeks ago for free so we didn't even need a survey lol).

I call the guy up, massively pissed off as i've been in 2 hours of traffic this morning! The conversation goes like this "Your secretary said it was a free quotation." "No we don't do free quotes"

"Well thats your problem to sort with your staff for giving out shit info"............"Bottom line mate is you need to pay the survey fee within 10 days or it's being reffered to a collections agency/bailiffs bla bla"

Me "No bottom line is mate, you're gonna have to come back to my house yourself and take that fucking 1'er out my pocket yourself you little c u nt"

Guy slams down the phone.

What next getbig??? I'm wondering if my phone provider can give me a transcript of the call to prove their incompentance.......

Use your big muscles for intimidation go over to the guys office and say here i am and i am not paying if you have a problem lets go outside.

BS they can fuck up your credit rating.  welcome to 2014.

There's no such thing as a universal "credit rating", not in the UK anyway. Different lenders will provide credit depending on a number of different factors, all particular to their own lending rules. You can obtain credit from one lender for x amount but that doesn't mean another lender will give you the same terms.

An extreme example would be that everyone and their dog can get a payday loan from one of those high-interest lenders (irrespective of whether you've been bankrupt in the past), but not everyone would be able to get a credit card through Coutts (the Queen's bankers). Your suitability for obtaining credit would come out completely different when they run your details through their computers.

Lol he told my wife he wanted something in writing, so I emailed this:

"Good afternoon 'Mike',

This morning I received a call from my wife, who was concerned about an invoice for £88 she has received from you in respect of a ‘Free Quotation’ you carried out at my property.

Naturally I told her not to be concerned, as you had no written or verbal agreement with us to carry out a paid survey, and henceforth not a leg to stand on.

I strongly suggest that you make no further contact with us concerning your bogus invoice. If I receive another letter or call from your company, or a collections agency in respect of this, you will be reported to Trading Standards the same day.

Regards

I actually used '    ' for his name in honour of getbig

Nothing is more humiliating then putting another mans name in quotations.

You essentially rob him of all masculinity and self respect.

This trick always works.  When he comes over, anally rape him and then take the $100 and shove it up his ass and thank him for his estimate.  Guaranteed he won't ever pull this stunt again

The piece of shit has just emailed me again, with this:

"Can you please confirm when you are making payment to us and your method; i.e. BACS, cheque etc?"

This is very disrespectful, as I made several points about communication problems within his company, and he has ignored and just sent that.

I'm actually pissed off right now

Any ideas?
