ok, let me ask u this? how many people will be saved with car banning and how much with gun banning?
Motor vehicle traffic deaths
Number of deaths: 33,687
Deaths per 100,000 population: 10.9
All firearm deaths
Number of deaths: 31,672
Deaths per 100,000 population: 10.3
If we ban guns and cars we save 64000 . If we ban cars we save 33000,if we ban guns we only saving 31000- what should we do?
We can't eliminate all ACCIDENTS, but crazed gunmen going on shooting sprees aren't accidents, they are the result of a society that has enabled such incidents to occur via poor legislation. Not only that, lets play this game, banning cars, trucks, let's say all forms of transport will have unintended consequences. The system will effectively break down, medicines and vaccines won't get made and delivered, nor will food be produced and distributed, it could possibly wipe out a large chunk of the population, hundreds of millions of people. Worse case scenario, you ban guns and the homicide rate stays consistent with what it was in the past, gunmen still shoot up schools etc etc, ie: more of what you already have, then other possibilities and ideas need to be tried.
Cars serve a multipurpose, society weighs up the good vs bad ration, and cars provide more good than bad, I would argue that guns cause more bad than good, especially when you consider children being murdered in the hallways of their schools.
