It's on AMC right now. Clubber Lang was a bona fide badass... working his tail off while Rocky got soft doing the Muppet show & signing autographs.

How have I never seen this movie before?

Did one/both of them use juice for their 1982 movie role? Did the "T" in mr. 'T' stand for testosterone?

Stallone was a horrible actor back then lol... unreal how bad he was. He should be winning Oscars today, based upon how much he's improved.

Great movie. I remember getting pissed off in the theater when clubber hit the great Burgess Merideth (Mickey) killing him. Great way for Rocky to get his heart back into the fight though.

The penguin (mickey) is his trainer, but then he gets a new trainer black dude from part 1 and 2, was in predator with arnold , but not the black guy that arnold threw thru the wall at the motel in commando

Great movies that inspire. Too bad they don't make em' like this anymore. I gotta watch this again been awhile. I really like the training scenes and music from Rocky 4. Makes me push myself hard in my own training every time.

I'm a big fan of this Clubber Lang's work ethic and attitude. Killing it in an empty dungeon basement while Rocky grins thru a soft workout as a band plays and bubbles pop around him.

The Rocky story is based on journey man fighter Chuck Wepner. Ali wanted a tune up fight and they picked Chuck to fight. Chuck Wepner never fought a professional fight without having a real job. This was the first fight he trained for with no job to get in the way. He was from New Jersey and not Philly.

Stallone saw the fight and wrote Rocky. Early on he always mentioned Chuck but after time denied the movie was loosely based on him. They settled out of court with Stallone's lawyer's telling the actor they would lose the case if it went to trial.

For you guys that don't know the about Chuck Wepner he was rumored to have shady connections to the mob as an enforcer. Rocky was a collector for the mob. Chuck Wepner fought Ali and took a beating. In the 9th round he knocked Ali down with a body blow. Ali said he tripped from Chuck stepping on his foot and punching him. When Ali got up he gave Chuck a beating but Chuck fought back standing right in front of him. In the 15th round Ali knocked him down. Chuck staggered to his feet with seconds to go in the fight but the referee had seen enough.

Chuck had some hard times after the fight. He was approached to "fight" Andre the Giant for a wrestling match. Chuck knew nothing about the sports entertainment wrestling. He went along with the fake stuff not knowing what to do but when he was thrown around roughly by the 7'4" 500lbs plus guy he decided to hit him to inform him he was being to rough. Andre got pissed off and picked him up throwing him out of the ring causing an unscripted chaos where everyone involved wanted to fight for real.

Did you see his training regimen compared to Ivan Dragos training in Rocky 4?

Events in life change your perspective on things.

Rocky persevered, changed and adapted, while Clubber Seal was nowhere to be found in Rocky 4 since he faded like a burnt out match.
