It's shit like this which made me drop my ego and not fear lifting "pussy weights" at the gym. I still lift heavy enough to challenge myself, but it's all about quality time under tension and not crushing huge weights. I don't compete, but I still don't want to tear something and look like a fucking moron for the rest of my life.

Branch is way past being done. He used to look fabulous just before and after he got his pro card. Seems to be the same for most bodybuilders nowadays. It's a shame that getting their pro card is the beginning of the end.
Eloquently stated my brother......sums it up to a "T" !

He is starting to get that sunken pit look to his chest that Scott Steiner has.
well steiners was explained, but yeah seems with age men lose their chest line and the inner part thickness.

i know mine looks nothing alike to when i was 20.

It's a shame the 212s weren't around when he turned pro.  Imagine if he had to keep everthing tight to stay in class instead of chasing mass monsters with a 5'4 frame....he could have been the greatest small guy since Franco.  Just picture if he brought that density and condition but had to keep his midsection and thighs inline with his structure.

Either there were totally incompetent and blind judges, or the quality level of the participants was dramatically low. How else can such a mess take 6th place?

No they have not. One leg is much smaller than the other from his quad tear. You need to look at recent pics.

Even if he completely tanks and falls to 12th at the Olympia...

he's still the 12th best at something in the world.  I mean, Tommy Hass is the 12th best tennis player in the world.  Steve Stricker is the 12th ranked golfer in the world.  They shouldn't retire.  Neither should branch.  He's one of the best in teh world.  12 at the O is 1st or 2nd at the smaller shows.

The good old days.

Holy shit! He actually had a good physique and a good looking face (no homo). WTF happened?! Is it the GH? Tren? Or is it just bad genetics for aging? The same thing happened to Palumbo, I saw pics of him from when he was in his 20s and the guy kind of looked like Travolta, but once he got up to 300lbs his face formed into the monstrosity it is now.

Personally, Branch is a good guy, a good husband and father, but....

his physique is ready for a very long rest. So is his mind, his body and his soul.

He's not going to get any better and he can't keep grabbing every "guru" that comes along hoping that one of three will get him straight.

You can't listen to multiple people's opinions especially when they are on polar opposite sides of the spectrum.

I'd like to see him go out with pride.

There really is nothing more that his physique will respond to other than complete rest. His receptor sites are burnt out, he has a great work ethic... the only thing he could possibly do is start site injecting (way beyond what he already does) and this is NOT a good choice.
