Olivier may have been a better actor per say from a theatrical sense, but he couldn't hang with Brando's emotion, charm and sexiness. There is too much there.

And as good as Heston was, both those guys weren't as influential as Brando.

The guy fought and rebelled against everything and everyone and won... even Hollywood (which he hated).

He deserves respect.

Planet of the Apes really affected me when I was a kid. Some of Heston's best lines were delivered before you see any apes. I always liked the beginning of the movie more than the rest.

There's a house near me that has a life size cardboard cut out of Brando standing at the ground floor window. Must take a photo and post it here tomorrow, it always catches people out the first time they see it as being a real person.

Honestly I never got the fascination with James Dean. Even in the movie Giant, which is one my favorite I thought that he was OK at best. Rebel without a cause was OK also.
