Now, I know this is a silly question, but what really became of him?  I know someone "outed" the guy, which I generally find kind of chickenshit; nonetheless, if that's why he left, I can understand why.  Short version:  Dave was all bark, no bite.  He forever hounded people for proof of their physiques and lifts, but when he was pressed, the best he could do was some weird reflections of a pumpster-looking fat guy in a slide door mirror :?:

I guess I could gave Mirza credit for not posing with a milk carton that read "children are the orgasm of life," though -- if, of course, you can call that "giving credit" :D

This is a reference to an old happy days episode where fonzi literally jumped a shark while water skiing. As for th saying, I guess it depends on the context but I'm pretty sure it's used to describe some desperate act for attention or to keep the fans interested in whatever you may be doing.
