it is also against international law to steal a coubtry of its territory- but kosovo , falkland are ""special cases"" because us and their western pupies told u so. Crimea is more legit than iraq , afganistan , kosovo elections because nobody was killed. Deal with it

Falklands belongs to the UK, going back to the 17th century and Argentina invaded illegally in 1982.  And which Kosovo elections are you referring to?

You have a point about Iraq and Afghanistan, but the best analogy to Putin's action is Hitler's Anschluss policy in Europe.  He annexed Austria in 1938.  No one died then, either.  There was even a referendum and 97% voted for Hitler.  After it became obvious that they had better do so via the presence of Nazi troops.  Very similar in every respect.  Which is why the Europeans, slow to react to anything, reacted to Putin very strongly and quickly.

Russia only produces/export gas & petrol only, not much else is made there.
Persian & Libyan petrol would replace Putins oil.

That's right.

But Putin thinks he only needs China and its allies' markets for his petrochemicals.  But China is a shaky partner, not much better than the US in terms of Russia paranoia.  He really needs the Europeans, and he has badly scared them by aping Hitler in the late thirties.  And for what? To annex a region he dominates anyway.

no, kosovo its the precedent for crimmea (Kosovan independence referendum, 1991)- that referendum was recognized by western puppets and amurica afeter 8 yers-  you dont need to make the same mistake twice ,so , after fascism in ukraine overtrow a legitimate  governement and ban the use of foreign language it was a clear necesity to choose a right path for an autonomus region- by vote =democracy in full efect

The 1991 referendum was recognized only by Albania.  What brought in Europe and the US was ethnic cleansing.  Yes, Clinton should have included Russia in determining policy, given their ties to the Serbs.  But otherwise the situations are not similar.  Putin's Kremlin speech just makes the case for revenge, and "revenge" against the West is not exactly in the best interests of Russia.

No, the Europeans see their own interests and those interests do not include the Soviet Union getting rebuilt by a revival of Hitler's annexation policies.

I know Putin is very popular at home.  Let's see how popular he stays when the economy starts to suffer.

GONUCLEAR - zionist at heart, don't trust a word he utters.

I happen not to be a Zionist, but Israel is actually with Putin on this, just so you know.

And the Zionists worldwide are delighted because it is a distraction from the Palestinian occupation.

Hitler's annexation policies.

 ???

Didn't the people who live there vote overwhelmingly in favor of joining Russia?

If Bangor, Maine (which has a large French Canadian contingent) voted to join Canada, that would not give Canada the right to annex that city.

If you don't agree with that, then Putin is your guy.

By the way the people in Austria "voted overwhelmingly" to become part of Germany in 1938.

If the people of the south voted overwhelmingly to remain the same nation they had always been and not adopt a distant capital's new laws which would bring certain ruin upon them, do they not have a right to self-determination?

If you don't think so then Lincoln is your guy!

Btw, the people of the colonies 'voted overwhelmingly' to tell King George to go peel a spud.

Mr. GayNuclear,

Please study some history. Crimea has belonged to Russia since Catherine the Great of Russia conquered it back in 1783.

The difference is the cultural ties between the Crimea and Russia is deeper and goes back much further.

Just been watching BBC politics show which featured John McCain and ambassador Vladimir Chizhov.

Vladimir is told that McCain is concerned that other former Soviet countries could be targeted next such as the Baltic states.
The ambassador is funny, joking that McCain should be more worried about Russia deciding to take back Alaska  :D

These Russians just don't give a fuck about threats from the pussified USA these days.
