Ive heard from more than one person with relatives living in Crimea (one getbigger and a couole coworkers), that the russian mikitary basicallt forced crimeans to vote to join russia, and literally no option existed to stay part of the Ukraine. . Basically were told 'if yoi dont vote to become russian again, you wont live/have homes to return too.

And their 2 voting  options were 'join russia', or 'leave Ukraine'.

so before yall go talking about how democratic this was, you may want to actually talk to some Crimeans....

Putin had some pics snapped of smiling Russians he bussed in to vote as well, and BAM, hes a hero.

HMM, Ukraine Navy had approval to fight, and to the chagrine of their 'Defence Minister" chose to co-operate with the Russian forces.  What does this tell us?  THEY DON"T WANT TO BE PART OF UKRAINE

Little humor so feelings don't get too heated  ;D

"everything is opposite in Russia so technically Crimea invaded us" LOL, that was funny

Obama: "you force people to accept something the majority don't even want.."
Putin: "yes, in russia we have a word for it. Obamacare"  ;D

would you want to fight Russia? Not to mention the economic consequencs....

This isnt about the neat little Russia vs US thing getbig has turned this into, and in no way was my oost meant to support rhe US.... but you of all people,  believing the image spoon fed to you by Russia just because it counters the US viewpoint, is sad. Its seeming to me after talking to several RUSSIANS with family living in Crimea that the Crimean population was bullied and forced to join Russia, and all everyone can do is suck Putins cock because he out maneuvered Obama.

What the hell.

they have zero chance to engage the US in a stand up fight.

zero.

they have no way of logistically sustaining a fight. ... unlike the US, who is the only country in the world that has a developed amphibious doctrine specificallty designed to wage war on foreign soil.... people dont understand that Russia and China have zero chance st moving their troops and equipment around the globe effectively, let alone against the US.

China doesnt even have a modern carrier for fucks sake, and Russias carriers are jokes. Without modern carrier battlegroups to defend their naval vessels, ground units and supply chain, they have zero chance in a fight.

Back when USSR was in Afghanistan, the afghans were at least supported by americans, pakis, uk and who not. These days no one supports them but they have handed your ass to you for a well over decade now  :D
Just the men in caves, their donkeys and old ak's.

It's funny because the US is a country that was built on land annexations, acquisitions and treaties, some of them at gunpoint. Yet, we can't wrap our heads around somebody else doing the same at an insanely smaller scale.

People need to get laid and put away the remote control.

Awesome?  No one likes a country that just decides to grab the land of a neighbor.  Even Putin's wary pal China would only go so far as to abstain rather than voting in the UN Security Council for his position.  This is a bad miscalculation.  Sticking a pencil in Obama's eye is one thing, but conjuring up forebodings of Hitler will make you everyone's enemy pronto.

I was on your side til I heard how West Germany merged with East Germany against everyone's wishes. It is a bit imperialist but to be fair Kruschev gave Crimea away when he was drunk.

Russia Returns Favor, Sees Chinese Yuan As World Reserve Currency
03/23/2014 18:32 -0400

Following China's unwillingness to vote against Russia at the UN and yesterday's news that China will sue Ukraine for $3bn loan repayment, it seems Russia is returning the favor. Speaking at the Chinese Economic Development Forum, ITAR-TASS reports, the Chief Economist of Russia's largest bank stated that "China's Yuan may become the third reserve currency in the in the future."

Managing Director and Chief Economist of investment company Sberbank Yevgeny Gavrilenkov said at the 15th governmental Chinese economic development forum in the Chinese capital on Sunday (via ITAR-TASS):

"China’s yuan (renminbi) may become a third reserve currency in the world in the future"

"This forecast can be made on figures of domestic economic growth. Probably the country will keep high GDP growth rate and the GDP volume will increase to around 14-16 trillion U.S. dollars for a brief period of time, the indicators comparable to the European Union and the United States.

Meanwhile, Chinese securities are more attractive for the countries that have a surplus in economy, particularly the Middle East states; and China will obviously follow the path of securing the country’s assets,"

Putin inspires terror in New World Order: Dr. Barrett

Russian President Vladimir Putin is standing up against West’s aggression aimed at completely destroying traditional nations and values and creating a New World Order global dictatorship, an analyst says.

Ongoing Western attempts to destabilize Ukraine, Syria and Iran as well as other countries are the “most recent examples of a decade-old pattern of aggression” which the Russian president is countering, Kevin Barrett, a professor of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies, wrote in an article for Press TV website.

“In short, the New World Order – a shadowy group of global banking oligarchs bent on establishing a one-world dictatorship – is trying to overthrow every leader on earth who resists. Russian President Putin is resisting. That is why the Western propaganda machine is calling him names,” Barrett said.

He noted that Russia and Iran are both successfully resisting a New World Order dictatorship.

The commentator noted that the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran was a landmark event signaling an end to the “20th-century wave of militant secularism and atheism – and a revival of traditional religion.”
