Baraka was epic, very well done, amazing cinematography

Never shot heroin but the whole nihilistic lifestyle brings me back to when I was living something like that. Just fucking up.and not giving a fuck

I searched for saddest song on youtube when coming down and found this. I couldn;t cry, could't feel bored no matter what at that time. I was numb and wanted to feel something. Heard this. I didn't cry but damn now I watch it it hurts. I was a mess.

Not religious but this song tore my heart out. It was based on a friend of the singer whose friend had a child die young, Lyrics cut through you, first half anyway. My son was 4/5 at the time and had already had 3 operations when I heard this:

this, except Requiem for a Dream. I got lucky never having health or law issues but it was exactly what was going on around me and to all the people I knew. I cant watch that shit AT ALL.

Especially towards the end... the helplessness, the loneliness, the complete hopelesslness of watching everything you care about crumble, only to be left broken and alone.... and knowing its all your fault but being unable to stop...... it absolutely haunts me to hear the main theme to that movie.
