what were your arms measurements when you were competing?

Man you had an amazing physique, and becoming pro at 22 is fucking insane bro, I'm amazed you didn't a couple olympia sandows, especially 1994 $:-\$

thats probably the ideal arm width I think, 22 inches can be abit big and chicks can sometimes be turned off by muscles too big, if I get 18 inches I'll happy

That's more like it... I've choked down these ridiculous arm measurements for years. Always wished someone would have the integrity to give us a real useable figure to work with.

As I've said before, I'm 5'4''/5'5'' (around the same height as Shawn: 5'8'') and felt there must be a certain amount of fudging going on with the pros, in these star profiles and the like. My own contest weight is around 180 lbs, but even at a pudgy 220 lbs (fat bastard) my arms are still only 16'' cold. But they certainly don't look like anything to be ashamed of, and I once told a steroid using Mr Ireland competitor they were 18'' cold; he didn't even flinch. Believed every word of it.

Now would Shawn be willing to give us the rest of his top form measurements??

It'd be greatly appreciated. There are lots of us tottering far below the 6' mark who look up to (more relatable) Mr O's like Shawn, Dickerson, Columbu and Zane rather than to the likes of Arnold and Ronnie. We'd all like to be able to compare ourselves in a realistic sense without all the pretence.

Shawn won the '94 Olympia by a very significant margin, I lost a lot of respect for Dorain when he accepted the Sandow with a far supeior Shawn standing within arms reach of him. He also won the '96 Olympia by what should have been a unanimous decision.

If you don't believe me, ask anyone who has there... or saw the video. They'll all agree.

I'd go so far as to say future bodybuilding historians will make a good argument that Shawn should really have been Mr Olympia from '92 all the way to maybe '01/'02 (Ronnie can't pose). I'm not so impressed by Dorian's 6 year reign, or the current incumbent's continuous winning... because if he was still competing (he's younger than Ronnie) and being judged fairly and objectively... Shawn could easily be a FOURTEEN-TIME Mr Olympia.

If you don't believe me... just imagine Shawn WAS Mr O during any one of those years... there is a better argument AGAINST any of the competitors toppling him than there is FOR any of the Mr O's from any of those years.

You don't need muscle to pull pussy..........if you didn't know that then you are lost regardless.

Really... Mike Mentzer didn't exactly have skinny arms and he said himself that the biggest they ever measured was a fraction of an inch over 18".

Shawn's arms were pretty good too and he says they were around 18".

Arthur Jones once measured the arms of Sergio Oliva and Arnold Schwarzenegger (two guys with some of the biggest arms ever) and they taped out at around 20" (Sergio's a little more and Arnold's a little less).

It's just funny how arm measurements have crept upwards over the years until now some pros are claiming 22-24" or more.
