this arguments as dumb n old as jap bike versus harley.
They all used machines too. Cable crossovers, nautilus, lat pull downs, cable rows I could go on n on but I think that best example is always that no one has ever built an impressive set of calves without machines. Those that have in the Iron Age were the ones that were born w them anyway. So I guess the caves are made of different muscle cells physiologically than all other muscles. Nope. Because they r the one muscle that u pretty much need a machine due to balance challenges if u want to build huge calves above and beyond what nature intended.
Bad arguement. I've seen black dudes with big high calves who have built them on running up and down stadium steps---high reps.
One doesn't need a machine for it. Hell, two buckets of wet sand and you can easily work your calves.
Sure the old school used machines, but they seemed to be more of a proponent of free weights.
And if we are talking chests---the ones I listed are in a league of their own (include Strydom as well). Whereas Phil is not known for great pec development...Shawn Ray, who was more old school, used both, and even he would use 180 pound dumbbells, and had better chest development in my opinion than Phil did.
And we all know that the jap bikes are better than Harleys.
You wanna go there, it was Harley that killed off Buell. Harley didn't want Buell to go after the Japanese sport bikes, and it was Harley that wanted Buells to look aesthetically "weird".
Harley only knows how to sell one product, and that is "Harley".
