1. Never live with a woman, allow her to move in with you or have her mail sent to your address.  Common law marriage is real.  She has a legal right to cash payments/damages if she lives with you for a certain number of years... the time period varies depending on which state you live in.  

2. Never get married (gay or straight).  The bottom line is... marriage is a financial arrangement/contract.  Once you sign that marriage contract, you are legally tied to that person.  If you make more that they do, you are legally obligated to provide for their financial needs.  Forget about pre-nups, they can be circumvented by any crafty divorce attorney.

Even constant change gets repetitive, given enough time. BB and I both tried a stable relationship (not with each other), followed by years of fucking around and debauchery. Honestly I think a lot of it depends on your age and maturity level. I loved being single in my 20's and even early 30's but you get to a point where you want something a little more solid. Someone you can trust to have your back, know will be home when you have a shit day and all the other stuff that comes with a relationship.

I knew I wanted to be a dad. I knew that I didn't want to be a baby daddy so, I found a woman that compliments my life (not complicates) and I hers and had babies. We were also old enough to not fall into a relationship that was founded on bullshit or other factors that doom immature couples like religious / spiritual choices, money handling, kid rearing style, career and retirement goals etc... For sure..gotta have your own hobby / interest. I don't need a babysitter and neither should a grown ass woman. Trust and some independence is good. Even with kids I get "guy night" while she watches the kids and she gets the same.
